Fact about the matter What would you do if you saw someone hurting an animal? Most of you probably would not know what you should REALLY do. Good morning teachers, judges, and fellow students. Today, I will be talking to you about animal abuse and cruelty. Domestic means that these are types of animals you can have in your home. Unfortunately, people of all ages abuse animals. This includes senior citizens, adults, teenagers and even children. Sadly, most animal abusers and killers are teenagers.

more info Researchers say that violence against animals often represents displaced hostility and aggression stemming from neglect or abuse by some other family member. What that means is that if a child is abused, they are more likely to be an abuser of animals.. Adults who abuse animals may have grown up in an abusive home. Sometimes, during a divorce, one adult may take out their anger on their dog or cat, to get back at the other person. Others do it for no reason. Sadly, teenagers abuse animals for fun,

These reasons are about cats and dogs getting neglectedAbused cats have been beaten and even killed by their owners. One cat was burned to death by teenagers. During my research, I read of two teens that killed a total of seventeen cats. One cat was put in a microwave and was killed. Another man killed his cat by hitting it with a rake. If this doesnt make you feel sick, I dont what else would.

Dogs have been abused as well. Five puppies were thrown down into an outhouse hole. Luckily, someone walking by heard their pitiful whining and they were all rescued. One man killed his mothers dog with a hammer. Another dog, named Rudy, was neglected and abused so badly that you could see every rib on the dog. During the past month, there was an article in the Hamilton Spectator newspaper, about how two teenagers had dragged a dog behind a car and killed it.

Does and donts If you see an animal being abusedif you think that an animal is being abused or neglected, it is important that you ... can be difficult and heart-wrenching, but they are depending on you to find the ... We will protect your identity, so do not be afraid to notify us. However for our internal purposes, we will need your name, address and phone number in case we need to talk to you further. Please don't be afraid to make the call when you see it! Document what you witness. When you make the call, tell the person taking the information as many details of the situation as you cani.e., the location, date and time, and descriptions of the people and animals involved. Video and photographic documentation (even a cell phone photo) can help bolster your case. It's also useful to give names of others who may have witnessed the incident.

Prepare to testify: While you may remain anonymous, the case will be much stronger if you are willing to identify yourself and testify to what you witnessed. Since animals cannot talk, a human witness is crucial for building a strong, prosecutable case.

Things you will need treat a injuredanimalFirst, make an animal first-aid kit. You will need to include:ScissorsA hand towelaid bandages or gauze3 small spongesMasking tapea needle or safety pin (just in case)A small bottle of hydrogen peroxidea notebook (To record results for future needs)A pen or pencilLatex gloves

Steps to treat an injured animal 1)What to do if you find an animal with a crushed leg, paw, or tail: Put on the latex gloves. If it is a bird or rodent of any kind, throw the hand towel over it so it can not see. this will help it relax, and reduce the risk of it biting you. Use the scissors to amputate it so it doesn't get infected and the animal does not have to go through pain. Use a sponge or eye shadow stick and dip it in hydrogen peroxide to wipe away any blood and clean the wound. 2)What to do if you find an animal with torn skin: Put on the latex gloves. If there is any blood, use a sponge or eye shadow stick and dip it in hydrogen peroxide to wipe it away, clean the wound, or stop it from bleeding. If it is a small, hairless animal, such as a frog, seal it with masking tape. If it is larger or has hair, use the gauge or aid bandages. Look after it for a while and feed it until the skin heals or grows back. 3What to do if you find a scraped or bruised animal: Put on the latex gloves. Use hydrogen peroxide and a sponge or eye shadow stick to clean up the wounds and any blood. Let the animal rest
