The Angel Tree Ministry Team is encouraging our church to gather food throughout the year for our adopted families at Christmas. We will be emphasizing items each month that we can collect. The item for July is Peanut Butter. As you shop for groceries, look for good buys on Peanut Butter and bring them to the church.
Save the Dates!! Our Missions Committee is sponsoring two days of service in August:
Saturday, August 3 Fred L. Wilson Elementary School
Saturday, August 10 Northwest Cabarrus High School
Lunch will be provided on both days. All we need is a few volunteers ready to help our schools have the best year ever!
We are collecting new underwear for the elementary schools and McKnight Head Start in Kannapolis City Schools. Underwear is needed for boys and girls sizes 6-12.
A box is provided for your donations near the Conference Room. We will be collecting through the end of July. Your donations will help underprivileged kids as the 2019-2020 school year begins.
Our communal lunch is today. We will gather in the Fellowship Hall for conversations and a meal together. The church provides water, tea and lemonade. All you need to bring are a couple of your favorite
dishes to share. See you after worship in the Fellowship Hall!
As you continue to make plans for the summer, make space for a summer book study. Tom will be leading a study of Max Lucado's book Anxious For Nothing on selected Thursdays this summer at 3:00pm. Those remaining Thursdays are August 1 and 8. You will want to purchase the book in ad-vance and begin reading before your first class. The subtitle is "finding
calm in a chaotic world." If you face anxious moments, and we all do on occasion, this study may be helpful to you.
Contact the church office to sign up!
On Sunday, July 28th, you will be invited to make nominations for our Deacon Council. Deacons serve four-year terms as the elected spiritual leadership of our church. Please give thought and consideration to people in our church you believe would serve well in this role. The scriptural qualifications for deacons can be found in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
Church Wide Breakfast Sunday, July 28th, 8:45am
Come join the fellowship and enjoy a wonderful breakfast of Eggs, Grits and a choice of Bacon or Sausage. Please RSVP to the Church Office by July 25th.
Dear Church Family, We want to thank our thoughtful church family for the many expressions of love, concern and sympathy during Earl’s illness and passing. We deeply appreciate the many visits, calls, cards, notes, flowers and delicious food. We have drawn strength from your prayers...they are felt and sincerely treasured! Warmest Regards, Betty Childers Mike, Ann (Childress), & Lauren Wilson

The Season After Pentecost WELCOME Tom Cabaniss
PRELUDE Carol Cone
THE CALL TO WORSHIP Mark Hill One: Stirring within us All: is a longing to be loved. One: God says: “You are the beloved.” All: Aching within us is our desire for our true home. One: God says: “Come home. Here you will find rest.” All: Rising within us is our search for a vision larger than the pressing moment. One: God says: “I will give you a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to guide you.” All: Brewing within us is a yearning for community. One: God says: “I have called you by name and given you one another to love.” All: Being born within us is a song of hope and a melody of praise.

Welcome to Kannapolis First Baptist Church! We are so grateful to God for leading you to this place of worship today.
If you are a guest, be sure to sign our fellowship pads as they are shared during the worship time or our guest book in the foyer
of the church as you leave so that we might have the opportunity to thank you personally for worshipping with us today.
“The Moon and A Parakeet” Psalm 15
A QUESTION Verse 1… Verse one gives us an idea of what it is like to live in the house of God… If we put all this together… So the question lingers…
A CAVEAT
We have to remember that no one is worthy to enter into the presence of God based on how he has lived. Ephesians 2:8-9… John 10… The moon landing…
A TRANSFORMATION
One mark of a mature Christian… After entering the family of God, He goes to work to change us in at least four ways… Character Conversation Conduct Currency When the Lord invites us to dwell with Him… A car wreck…
A CONCLUSION
Verse 5b… Psalm 1:3...four qualities… Many things in life can shake us… Guard our thoughts and trust the Father… A parakeet...
