Historical BackgroundAt the same time as the 322nd RCT were landing at the north of the island the 321 RCT was landing on the east coast, onBeach Blue. This was after a preliminary bombardment by the battleship, USS Tennessee, as well as one heavy cruiserand three light cruisers. Dauntless dive bombers from the USS Wasp (CV-18) also attacked the beaches and LCI(G)'sfired 4.5in rockets to support the landing. They only encountered only minor resistance on landing but met stifferresistance once it moved off the beach and did not advance as far as the 322.The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn and you are in command, the rest is history.
