Participants com- pleted laps (walking & running) around the school and collect- ed pledges per lap. Each year, the Walk-A-on raises funds which are distributed throughout the school based on staff requests. e 2011 Walkathon raised approxi- mately $6000. e AJWC would like to extend a huge thank you to all those who made this year’s event a success, especially the students, parent volunteers, Kathy Johnson, David April and to Jake’s Old Fash- ioned Ice Cream & Sweet Shoppe for donating certificates for the top 12 fundraisers. WOOF- FUN (Waiting On Our Furever Families Up North) is a non-profit organization in NH that places dogs from southern states in local fos- ter homes instead of shelters while dogs await adoption. In creating these projects, stu- dents researched dog breeds and learned about different animal wel- fare organizations. ey chose to donate the proceeds of the raffle to these organizations because they wanted to make a difference in the lives of homeless pets throughout New Hampshire and the country. A member of the National Honor Society and 2011 National Merit Commended Schol- ar, Alisa received the School’s Phys- ical Science Award her senior year and the Writing Award for Poetry her junior year. She served as an ed- itor of yearbook and treasurer of the Chinese Culture Club, was a mem- ber of the Derryfield chapter of the Anti-Defamation League’s World of Difference Peer Training Pro- gram, and volunteered for Key Club and Habitat for Humanity. A talented athlete, Hunter was a four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team, earning a Div. III State Championship his ju- nior year. He was also a member of the varsity crew program for two fall seasons, played JV golf his se- nior year, and qualified for the Meet of Champions as a member of the varsity swim team. Henry Morgan, son of Christo- pher and Mary Morgan graduated from e Derryfield School and plans to attend St. Lawrence Uni- versity. Henry was a class represen- tative for his grade on the School’s Class Council for four years and co- president of the Class Council his senior year.
