Jake Christiansen, a junior on the Calvin College cross country team, was the overall winner in a time of 15:42, Brendan Repack of Merrimack who runs for Gettysburg College was 2nd and Jason Porter of Bedford was 3rd. Jacy Christiansen of New Ipswich, a runner on the Mascenic High School Cross Country team was the overall womens winner in a time of 1 8:19. Heather Ann Searles of Henniker finished second and Karen Long of Nashua ran a strong 3rd. Age group awards were also presented to multiple participants. Runners were treated to a post race feast and many raffles prizes and awards with music provided by Amherst Middle School social studies teacher Dick Vassar. e race is held each year in cel- ebration of the lives of Kyle and Tim Crisman, who died in an automobile accident in November 2002. Kyle was a member of the Souhegan High School band and varsity track team who loved working on Saabs while Tim played on the varsity lacrosse squad and loved culinary arts. A scholarship fund was established in Kyle and Tim’s memory to support scholarships each year to two Souhegan students with one awarded to a student pursuing a career in the culinary arts or restaurant management and a second scholarship awarded to a student with a passion for the automotive/business field. To date the scholarship fund has awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships to Souhegan High School students. James put up 29 goals adding 21 assists over 41 games since compet- ing in the US Squirt Tier 1 Regional Championships last March. James took #1 Star honors at both the NE County Cup and the One Hockey International tournaments. James is returning Captain for the Pro Ambitions 98AAA team out of Nashua this fall. Dugdale Competes in Baseball Natioanl Championships U14 e New England Diamond Daw- gs AAU Baseball Program, based in Dracut, MA, recently competed in the U14 National Championships in Sarasota Florida. Amherst resi- dent Terry Dugdale helped lead the Diamond Dawgs to an impressive sixth place finish. Dugdale pitched a perfect game while striking out 8 batters in the tournament open- er over the Southern Rhode Island Mustangs. He also anchored the infield defense as the Diamond Dawgs starting shortstop through- out the tournament, while batting .375 including four extra base hits and three runs batted in. For his efforts, Dugdale was named to the National All Tournament Team. Dugdale will be entering his soph- omore year at Souhegan High School where he was a member of the Varsity Baseball program dur- ing his freshman year. Amherst Baseball Club Playoffs e playoffs were the season-ending competition between all teams within the Minors and Majors levels run by the Amherst Baseball Club.
