YOUR LINK TO THE EXCHANGE WH A T IS ASEC? The Ateneo Student Exchange Council (ASEC) is an or- ganization committed in the growth of its local and inter- national members as ambassadors of their own culture.  ASEC aims to give opportunities, both local and abroad, that strengthen a sense of national identity, cultural aware- ness, and intercultural dialogue. Through activi- ties such as local trips and workshops,  ASEC engages members in Filipi- no culture and creates avenues for social interaction that can promote cultural relativism. Finally, it aims to help in nation building by provid- ing cultural and academic opportunities outside the organization. MISSION   ASEC aims to provide Atene- ans, other Filipinos and foreign students, an avenue of under- standing in order to deepen national identity. It also seeks to expose them to a different envi- ronment through social interaction. By doing so,  ASEC advocates open-mindedness and open communication, thus leading to better global un- derstanding. Inbound Student Exchange Department welcomes the

national exchange students with open arms and helps

m with their transition to life in Ateneo and the Philip-

s. ISE does this by communicating with the OIR or Of-

of International Relations through its sub-department

e OIR Coordination Team, so we can know the needs

xchange students before they get here (like tours, bud-

, housing, shopping, etc). Not only do we get to know

exchange students’ and their cultures, but we get to

w them how OZOM Filipinos are and what the Philip-

pines has to offer!

The department of Outbound Student Exchange is in

charge of dealing with foreign institutions or events outside

the Ateneo, be it an embassy, or a university, as well as

taking care of ASEC members going abroad. Under OSE

is the liaison for Alliance of the International Student Or-

ganization - Philippines (AISO-Phil), who coordinates with

international orgs in DLSU and UP.

HUMAN

RESOURCES

The Human Resources Department makes sure that ASEC

stays a happy and healthy family of fleets. With the deter-

mination of a lion and a killer smile, your VP and AVP only

want that YOU have the best ASEC experience.

MARKETING &

FINANCE

The Marketing and Finance Department serves as ASEC’s

arm in sustaining the organization’s operations and projects

through fund raising. It is divided into 2 separate teams

the Finance team which deals with all the financial matters

of ASEC such as the budgets, expenses, r eimbursements

and the likes and the Marketing team which is responsi-

ble in building and maintaining relationships with external

contacts.

PRODUCTION

TEAM

The production team is composed of creative individuals

geared towards the effective communication and dissemi-

nation of pertinent information through the creation and

production of various ASEC paraphernalia. They deal with

the overall aesthetic work of the organization and maintain

rapport with members.

Indonesia-Philippines Youth Cultural Exchange Program (IPYCEP)

 June 6 -11 , 2011

This was the very first time ASEC hosted delegates from Indonesia for a one week exchange program in the

country. Included in the program was a local tour to Intramuros, classes in Filipino language, music and dance,and a culminating ceremony that showcased both Indonesian and Filipino culture, among others. 8 lucky ASEC

delegates were handpicked to accompany the Indonesian delegates for the duration of their stay.
