provides a trained cadre of volunteer radio operators, technicians and engineers who can use their considerable skills to augment disaster communication facilities;offered without charge for the use of amateur networks;considerable flexibility in rearranging communications points as they are free of commercial contract constraints;are able to make do with limited resources, as their equipment and networks are self-owned, but do not generate any income;lend their time and resources in training others to be licensed in the service and to give the benefit of their knowledge in the installation of communications facilities;Many examples where the Amateur Service has played an important role.
