Weekly Sessions Mondays Stop Smoking Workshop 2:00 and 3:30 pm at the Alders Children’s Centre. You can access support and advice from smokefreelife. FREE one to one confidential Stop Smoking service. EXPERT and professional advice and support. You are FOUR TIMES more likely to quit with our help. WEEKLY supply of Nicotine Replacement Therapy. Make those first steps to a healthier, happier you!

Friends of Freedom. 9:30 to 11:00 am on the first Monday of every month (this is an invite only session).

Tuesdays Under Ones 10:30 to 12:00 at the Alders Children Centre. This group is run by your health visitors for new parents and their babies 0 to 1 year old. This is a drop in session where you can have a cup of coffee and a chat whilst playing with your baby. Learn about sleep and weaning too!

1st Tuesday of every month. Job Club 1:00 to 2:30 pm at the Alders Children Centre. Get help looking for work, help with your CV, Information on benefit implications when starting employment.

PEEP—Learning Together Programme 1:30 to 3:00 at the Alders This is a new session for children aged 24 to 36 months old. It will be a four week course starting on the 14th January. We will provide information and ideas to help you support your child’s development and learning During the session there will songs and rhymes, a story time, play for the children, and talking time for adults. Weekly Sessions Wednesdays Pop Ins 9:30 to 11:00 am at the Alders Children Centre. Come join our Family Outreach Support Worker. This is an invitation only group for families who have had or would like to have support form a Family Outreach Worker. An opportunity to make new friends, play activities, informal support and advice. For more information please contact Paula White on 07557435518

Baby PEEP—Starting February 2014 For babies 0 to 9 months (Details to be confirmed)

Health Visitors Baby Weigh and Advice Clinic. 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Alders Children Centre. This is a drop in session run by the Health Visitors. You can self weigh your baby and your health visitors are on hand to for advice and baby self weighing is also avail­able. Please park your buggies in the buggy park at the front of the building.

Breast Feeding Support. 1:00 to 3:00 pm is available every Wednesday at the Alders Children Centre. This is a drop in session run by the breast feeding network. Breast feeding support is available across Bracknell Forest at various centres each day of the week. Please call your local centre for more information or check out the children centre website.

Thursdays Speech and Language Drop In On the 3rd Thursday of every month. 9:00 to 11:30 at the Alders Children Centre. If you have any concerns about your child’s speech and language development, please drop into the centre where they can be assessed by a speech and language therapist. Place are on a first come first served basis.

Weekly Sessions Thursdays I Miss You The death of a baby or child is devastating. Feelings of sorrow, anger guilt and pain are so intense. You can become isolated and unable to talk to family and friends. If you have experienced a loss why not come along to our 'I Miss You' group. On the 1st Thursday of the month 9:30 to 11:00 am , this session you can bring along your children and it's time to have a chat and a coffee whilst your children play. Or on the 3rd Thursday of the month 7:00 to 8:00 pm, this is a time for adults only to come along have a chat and a coffee in a relaxed environment without children around. In both sessions you will have the opportunity to talk with families in a similar situation. Any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Tel: 01344 354200

Children Centre Drop In 9:30 to 11:00 am at Owlsmoor Community Centre—run with Bracknell Forest Homes. Come in meet the Children Centre Team. Penny & sue will be available to give information and advice. We will also have local community visitors attending sessions to give advice on a range of services. Tea and Coffee will be available. Benefits Advice will be available the 1st Thursday of every month. Stop Smoking Workshop— also available at the drop in starting in January 2014

Fridays Babes and Explorers 10:00 to 11:30 am at St John the Baptist Church in Crowthorne. This is a drop in play session for parents / carers and their children 0 to 2 years old. Also on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month the Health Visitors will run their baby clinic. Antenatal Drop In Clinic 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Alders Children’s Centre. Run by our Community midwives. This is a drop in clinic to discuss any antenatal issues you may have. Breast Feeding Support. 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the Alders Children’s Centre. This is a drop in session run by the breast feeding network.

Weekly Sessions Saturdays Dads and Kids 9:30 to 11:00 am on the 3rd Saturday of every month (excluding bank holiday weekends) This fun session is for dads, step dads, uncles and grandads' with their children 0 to 5 year olds. (Older brothers and sisters are also welcome)

Antenatal Classes 10:00 to 4:00pm on a Saturday Please call your local community midwife to book onto these informative classes at the Alders Children Centre. Tel: 01344 354209

Dump your Dummy

The Alders Children’s Centre is a Dummy Free Zone.

To help encourage your toddler to talk, staff at the Alders & Chestnuts will be asking you not to use a dummy whist in the centre. (unless your baby is tired or upset)

Dummies can be left with the dummy bear and collected before you leave the centre.

For further information or support on dumping your dummy please see any member of the Alders & Chestnuts Team.

Word of the Week

What is 'word of the week'? Did you know that the more words your child can use the better they will do in school! Children under 5 can learn several new words every day, but only if they hear them. ‘Word of the week’ is our way of helping your children learn new word. Watch out for words of the week.

The Alders & Chestnuts Children’s Centre offers free, confidential, independent support for families with children under five. Services can be adapted to meet individual needs, including, behaviour management, emotional support, isolation, stress, benefits, information and advice. Childminders Play Together

We would like to offer all childminders from Sandhurst and Crowthorne area the use of our family room at the Alders Children Centre, giving you the chance to meet up with other childminders in your local area. Childminders can

ring on a Monday morning to check if there is a room free anytime that week. We cannot guarantee the room will be free to use every week as our sessions will take priority. Bookings will be take on a ‘first come first served’ basis

and priority will be given to childminders from the Sandhurst / Little Sandhurst & Crowthorne area. Due to the

size of the room numbers will be limited.

If you are supplying your own materials the room will be free of charge. If you would like to use our materials there will be a charge of £1 per child. All children attending the

centre must be registered. Childminders can obtain a registration forms from the centre and ask their families to complete and return to us. There is parking on site at the front of the building. Please use the drive through gate on

the left hand side and buzz the Alders to be let in.
