Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Services
Chem-Dry is the world’s leading carpet cleaning company with over
4,000 locations around the world. Chem-Dry’s cleaning profession-
als are trained to deliver the finest in service and quality using Chem
-Dry’s proprietary carpet & upholstery cleaning solutions and pow-
erful equipment.
A Natural Approach to Carpet Cleaning
By cleaning your carpets the Chem-Dry way, you can ensure a Drier, Cleaner, Healthier
home for your family. Chem-Dry carpet cleaners use The Natural, a proprietary hot wa-
ter cleaning solution that uses the power of carbonation to lift dirt to the surface where
our powerful suction tools whisk away the dirt - leaving carpets clean, deep below the
surface.
Experts agree - the Chem-Dry system works hard to deep clean carpets without leaving
dirt-attracting residues. In fact, the Carpet & Rug Institute has awarded Chem-Dry's hot
carbonating extraction process with its Seal of Approval. Through the power of carbona-
tion Chem-Dry can increase the longevity of your carpet, and often can help keep your
carpet warranty in compliance.
Upholstery Cleaning
Furniture, like the carpets in your home, receives a lot of attention, often in the form of
dirty cloths and shedding animals. However, with Chem-Dry’s upholstery cleaning sys-
tems you can have your home looking, feeling and smelling as good as new. Chem-Dry
upholstery cleaning systems use hot carbonating extraction, which works to lift dirt for a
deep clean that dries quickly. Ask your Chem-Dry professional about how to best care
for your specific upholstery type.
Specialty Spot Removal
Lipstick, permanent marker and juice stains are not uncommon, but are also not desir-
able additions to carpet and upholstery. Stains can be difficult to remove, but at Chem-
Dry, we believe if our trained technicians can't remove a tough carpet or upholstery
stain, no one can. Our carpet cleaning processes and solutions work to target and re-
move the stain. Ask your technician to evaluate your specific spots during your carpet
cleaning appointment. Your technician can identify any difficult spots and offer solutions
to improve the look of your carpets.
Area Rugs
Just like the carpet in your home, an area run needs professional cleaning. Our techni-
cians can help you maximize the life of your area rugs with regular cleaning. Ask about
our powerful Protectant products, which are applied by a Chem-Dry technician and can
help minimize the risk for stains between regular cleanings. (Continued Pg. 3 )

Progressive Employer Services
When trying to address an employee relations issue with an employee,
and often there are several issues at once, where do you begin? Usu-
ally, managers say something like, “I have an employee with an attitude
problem” or “My employee is not performing like I need him to.” It’s
helpful to have a starting point that guides the manager toward suc-
cessful problem resolution. The information should be memorialized
with the idea that a future reader would be able to, with as little ques-
tion as possible, understand the situation and outcome.
1. Identify and Analyze The immediate supervisor, upon identification of an employee’s activity
that is unsatisfactory, should approach the situation in an objective
manner. Using a process to define and analyze the problem will result
in a focused approach to an effective response. The concern(s) should
be categorized in one of three (3) areas: Performance, Attendance,
and Conduct. Do research on what happened, review/gather docu-
mentation, review similar events, compare what is know vs. perceived
and what is observed vs. hearsay, and always review the personnel file.
2. Determine Action Next, determine what action is most appropriate in addressing the
issue with the employee. These corrective measures may include dis-
missal from employment, informal discussion, verbal warning
(documented), written warning, and decision-making leave. Be certain
to review state law, and employment and union contracts if applicable.
3. Communicate Meet with the employee along with another manager. Remember
meeting rules such as do not reprimand in public, choose an appropri-
ate location, have documentation prepared, state the purpose (and
action step if applicable) of the meeting, describe the problem activity
and its impact on the company, seek to gain agreement on what the
problem is (this is critical), agree on specific solutions, and the time
frame for completion. Neither a probationary period nor probationary
status terminology should be used and be sure to state specifically what
will happen if the objectives are not achieved. Honoring an employee’s
right to be treated professionally, courteously, and with dignity and
respect sets an effective tone from the supervisor and supports the
potential for the relationship to survive the problem. The supervisor
should be prepared for a variety of reactions from an employee.
4. Document Memorializing an employee relation issue is performed by creating a
written summary of the event, providing a copy to the employee as
applicable, and placing a copy of the document into the employee’s
personnel file. Documentation should be dated, neat, factual, written
with diplomacy and professionalism, and with the understanding that it
may be read by an investigative authority in the future. Ask yourself,
“If this document were enlarged on poster board in front of a jury,
would I be comfortable answering questions about it?”

Pet Urine Odor Removal
Urine spots on carpet are a problem
that is hard to resolve; however, at
Chem-Dry, we have the ability to find
odor causing spots around your home
and remove them. First, our Chem-
Dry technician will use a black light to
identify stained areas, helping him/her
to evaluate the size and scope of the
odor-causing stain. Then, the techni-
cian will apply Pet Urine Removal
Treatment to rid your home of the
nasty odors that can permeate the
house from these spots. Your house
will smell fresh and the spot will be
minimized.
Carpet Protectant
Protect your carpets from dirt and
stains with Chem-Dry’s PowerGuard Protectant which is
loaded with acid-dye resistors to provide excellent stain
resistance and can be added by a Chem-Dry technician at
the time of cleaning. The stain-guard that comes with your
new carpets begins to wear away after only a few months of
steady traffic. In order to keep your carpets from fighting
spills and spots, Chem-Dry's PowerGuard Protectant can
replace the spot-fighting power and help keep your carpets
cleaner between routine professional cleaning appointments.
A BETTER WAY TO CLEAN. A CLEANER WAY TO LIVE.
Compare the Difference
Water left after steam cleaning.
Chem-Dry's patented Carbonating Cleaner is applied using a
low pressure spray machine, covering your carpet with mil-
lions of microscopic carbonated bubbles. The carbonation
makes dirt and grime release from the fibers of your carpet
and raise to the surface where it is easily extracted and
swept away. Due to the minimal amount of moisture used,
carpets cleaned the Chem-Dry way are dry in only 1 to 2
hours.
This process differs drastically from that of steam cleaners,
which simply douse your carpet in buckets of hot, soapy
water, then attempt to suck it all back out. While this proc-
ess does temporarily clean your carpets, it also leaves behind
a layer of sticky residue which collects dirt quicker, in addi-
tion to leaving moisture at the base of your carpet. This ex-
cess of moisture causes the carpets to take longer to dry
and allows for mold and bacteria to grow.
Overall, Chem-Dry offers a Drier, Cleaner, Healthier carpet
cleaning experience.
