PASTOR’S MESSAGE FOR THEE MONTH. . . Sisters and brothers in Christ, A brief update on the transition process… The Transitional Ministry Team has been working hard over the summer to complete the required paperwork so that Advent can enter into the call process for a new settled pastor. This paperwork, called the Ministry Site Profile, is a document which describes, in great detail, who you are, how you got to be what you are, and what the ministry gifts you seek in a new pastor are. Your participation in this process was invited through the Transitional Ministry Team pot-luck dinner held at the end of July and also through the four question sheets that were hung in the fellowship hall for your review/comment. Once the team has completed the document, the congregation council will have the opportunity to review, modify, and eventually approve it. After that happens, the document will be submitted to the Office of the Bishop for the Bishop’s review, possible modification, and eventual approval. It is very likely that all of this will take place before Thanksgiving and possibly by the end of October and that the search for your new pastor will begin in earnest before the end of the year. It’s important to understand that the time required to identify, interview, and evaluate candidates varies from one congregation to the next. The process may be rather quick and yet, it may take longer than you might want. Nevertheless, it’s important to do it the right way so that the candidate who is selected will have the gifts and skills needed to help Advent grow in your mission and ministry to the Richboro community. I invite you to continue to pray for the team and your congregation council as we work toward completing this task. May the peace of the Lord be with you always, Pastor Michael

THANKS TO ALL Thanks to the generous donations of the congregation of breakfast foods throughout the summer. Thanks to the children who attended Advent’s Vacation Bible School and assembled over 100 Breakfast bags shown above.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Advent’s Vacation Bible School program presented our undersea theme, “Dive Into God’s Word” the week of August 5 – 9. On our final day, families were invited to a program to see what our students had learned.

We were blessed to have an enrollment of 36 enthusiastic students, from both Advent and our community. Special thanks to our many

volunteers, from teens through adults, who brought their talent for sharing God’s word:

Pastor Michael, Nancy & Rich Hill, Laura Sanderlin, Karen Matlack, Jeanne Gryszka, Tori Gardener, Rhona, Andrew & Chase Slawter, Joey Vanderstine, Tanja, Téa & Max Santiago, Judy Buttil, Nancy Sclight Sclight, Fran Zanis, Dave Shearer, Mike & Katie Dettra, Geoff Duffy, Lynn Roccograndi,
