NEW ACADEMIC SESSION 2017-18

APRIL School-Almanac The students will receive School Almanacin the beginning of the academic year. The Almanac will establish a valuable liaison between the teachers and the parentswith regard to the quality of work being attempted by the students in the school and at home. Parents are requested to refer to it daily to keep in touch with the day to day progress of their wards. The almanac also gives information about School Rules, School Timings, School Uniform, Schedule of exams and activities, House Systemetc. Curriculum Planning for New Academic Session: House Meeting The four Houses are Arun, Bhaskar, Martand and Ravi. The objective to have house system is to inculcate discipline, healthy competition, and respect for different culture, instill confidence, self reliance and honesty and develop sportsmanship among the students. Inter-house competitions will be held among these houses group wise. Group A (Classes III–V, Group B (Classes VI– VIII), Group C (Classes IX- XII) The house meetings will be held at regular intervals to give opportunity to the houses to plan for the upcoming competitions. The house masters and tutors will train the students for the competitions and each house will strive to win the Best House Trophy. Orientation for Play Group to Class II To mark the beginning of a new academic session 2017-2018, orientation for the parents of tiny tots will be arranged. Orientation welcomes new parents into ABPS family. Orientation for Classes III to XII has been planned to help them to receive important information about new examination pattern. Clubs Various clubs are functioning in the school to give an opportunity to the students to pursue their interest and develop their skills and talents. Each child is talented and along with academics it is essential that the hidden talent of the child is identified and nurtured for the holistic development of the child.There are 13 clubs which organize various activities to hone the skills of the club members. Scouts and Guides The integration of work and study is the key element. All the students are obliged to gain practical experience in the course of their academic session. Scouts and guides is seen as an opportunity for adaptation to life in the group, forming good life long habits and cultivating a voluntaristic spirit. Keeping this in mind ABPS has kept Scout and Guide as an important wing to inculcate values, ethics and service to mankind. World Health Day –( Health & Wellness Club) The students of Health and Wellness Club will conduct a special assembly to create awareness among the students about importance of good health. The students will present thought, news, articles on importance of healthy living and display placards to teach the golden rules of healthy life style. They will also impart valuable information about yoga and meditation.

World Heritage Day – (I A Y P Club ) The students of IAYP Club and Class X will conduct a special assembly to celebrate this special occasion. The students will present articles and a skit to show- case the rich cultural heritage of our country. They will give information about heritage sites of our country and encourage students to learn about their culture, traditions and respect our national symbols. Entrepreneurship–(Consumer Club) The students of consumer club will participate in various activities to create awareness regarding the right of consumers, highlight the leadership skills of greatCEO of different companies, opportunities for youth to get inspiration from start ups and make in India project and also make the students aware of skill development programmes. A rally will be organized to create awareness about the child labour and consumer goods among the people. Earth day – (Eco Club) The students of Eco Club will conduct special assembly to mark this occasion. The students will present articles, skit and also organize fancy dress competition on the theme Save Planet Earth. Students will participate in tree plantation drive also. The students will participate in special program with residents of the colony in the evening to create awareness among masses to save our mother earth. . Co-Scholastic Activities Inter House Indoor (Chess Competition for class group VI-VIII and Table Tennis Competition for class group IX-XII will be conducted. Inter House Competitions like Hindi Recitation, and colouring activity will be conducted Best out of waste activity has been planned to create environmental sensitivity amongst students. Yoga & Aerobics for class group IX-XII will be conducted for physical and mental fitness. Training in Evening -Sports& Hobby Classes Athletics, Football, Basketball begin to strengthen pursuit of excellence on sports. Students will be imparted training on a regular basis viewing in mind the importance of sound health. Students will be given practice for representation at State and National Level Sports Championships. The students will be trained in vocal and instrumental music and also learn different forms of dances.

MAY International Labour Day – (Consumer Club) The students will conduct special assembly to create awareness about International Labour Day. The students will participate in outdoor activity and go to Kotputli to create awareness among the shopkeepers regarding strict laws against child labour. They will convince the shopkeepers to not to employ children in their shops and hence create awareness in society about adopting right practices and stop child labour. International Energy Day – Science Club The students of Science Club will participate in various activities to create awareness regarding conservation of energy. The children will be shown PPT to inform them about renewable and alternate energy . The main focus will be to inculcate habit of saving energy and not to have a casual approach towards it. Conservation of energy in school and at home must be practiced by all.

International Red Cross Day – ( Hindi Literary Club )

The students of Hindi Literary Club will conduct special assembly to create awareness regarding the work of

Red Cross Society and their contribution to save precious lives. They will present articles, poems and skit to

make students aware about saving life and contributing to society through selfless service. Tips on first – aid

will also be given to students to deal with an accident.

World No Tobacco Day– The senior students will participate in different programs to create awareness about

harmful effects of tobacco consumption. A session will be held for our helpers like drivers, conductors, etc. to

explain through PPT the ill effects of chewing tobacco or smoking. They will be made aware to take help and

get rid of these bad habits. Tobacco is injurious for health should be understood by all.

Summer Vacation:- Play Group to Class VIII from 15. 5. 2017 to 27. 6. 2017

IX to XII Classes from 22.5.2017 to 27.6. 2017

JUNE

World Environment Day

The students residing in the colony will take part in tree plantation programme along with KCW Plant. They

will participate in poster making competitions, slogan writing competitions etc . The message to all is to be eco

friendly in their day to day life activities and protect our environment.

World Blood Donor Day

The students residing in the colony will join the programme organized by KCW Health Center. It will create

awareness among people to donate blood for blood bank which can be used to save precious life of people. It

will be a service to mankind.

International Yoga Day

The students residing in the colony will join the members of KCW Plant to celebrate International Yoga Day.

The students will learn about the importance of Yoga and meditation .They will do yoga regularly in the school

to remain physically and mentally strong.

JULY

Founders’ Day Celebration

The Student Council will organize a special programme to celebrate Founder’s Day. The students will present

articles, speech, poem, group song, group dance etc. to mark this occasion. The journey of the school from the

time of its inception will be shown through a PPT. The school will show gratitude and reverence to the

founding members and strive hard to fulfill their dreams of making this school the best in the region.

House Meeting

All the four Houses will conduct House Meeting. The House Masters and tutors will plan and select students

for various Inter House Competitions. The House Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects will shoulder the

responsibility of maintaining discipline and helping tutors in training the students for the various competitions.

World Day for International Justice – (Heritage Club)

The students of Heritage Club will conduct a special assembly to create awareness among students about

International Court of Justice and its working. The club members will present articles, speeches and conduct a

Quiz to involve all the students and make them realize that nobody is above law and the people get justice if

they have been wronged by others. They must have faith in the judiciary.

Personality Development Week (PG to V)

The students of Primary Classes will attend sessions to improve their personality. They will be taught good

manners, gestures of courtesy, tips on anger management, learn values through motivational videos etc. This

will help the students to enhance their personality and be a decent member of the society.

Munshi Premchand Jayanti - ( Hindi Literary Club )

The students of Hindi literary Club will conduct a special assembly to celebrate this day. They will present

articles, poem and skit to highlight the literary work of Munshi Premchand. It will inspire young students to

appreciate, read and write literary piece of work.

Unit Test -1 The Unit Test I will be conducted for Class XI and XII from 10.7.2017.

Parent Teacher Meet (29.7. 2017 )

The PTM will be conducted on 29 July, 2017 so that the parents can interact with the teachers and know about

the progress of their ward in academics and co scholastic areas.They can use this opportunity to satisfy their

queries regarding their child’s performance in any area. The joint efforts of teachers and parents can help the

child to improve and do better.

Co- Scholastic Activities

Literary activities like English Recitation, Hindi Story Writing and Extempore Competitions will be conducted

for students from I to VIII.

Creative work like Rakhi Making competition and colouring competition will also be conducted

Yoga & Aerobics will be conducted for senior students to make them physically and mentally strong.

AUGUST

Investiture Ceremony and Independence Day

The Students’ Council will receive badges from the Chief Guest and take oath of eligience during the

ceremony. The council members will imbibe leadership qualities and learn to work in a team. They will

shoulder all the responsibilities given to them efficiently and accomplish the task sincerely. The Independence

Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and instill feelings of nationalism in students. They must be

proud to be Indians and be responsible citizens. Besides, all the club secretaries and Deputy Secretaries will be

given the badges of their respective clubs along with an oath taking ceremony.

National Sports Day – (Health& Wellness Club)

The students of Health & Wellness Club will conduct a special assembly to celebrate the birthday of Major

Dhyanchand. The students will present articles on Importance of Sports. They will also present judo

techniques for self defense. The students must be physically strong and should be able to protect themselves.

They will be motivated to participate in all games and learn about sportsmanship.

Quit India Movement Day

The senior students of class IX and Xwill conduct special program to celebrate 25th anniversary of Quit India

movement. The students will present PPT and highlight our freedom struggle which was led by Gandhiji who

preached non violence.

World Humanitarian Day - (British Council Club)

The students of British Council will conduct special assembly to mark this occasion. They will present articles,

slogans, poems to sensitize the students about being human. The students will learn to show empathy to

others and be kind to fellow human beings.

Good Manners Week – The students of Class Play Group to V will attend special session to learn good

manners for their personality development.

Unit Test 2 -The Unit Test II will be conducted for Class XI and XII from 17.8.2017.

Parent Teacher Meet - PTM will be conducted on 31 August for all the classes.

Co Scholastic Activities

Card Making Competition, Rangoli Making Competition, Group Song Competition and Fancy Dress

Competition will be conducted for different classes.

Literary Competitions like Declamation and Spell Bee and Calligraphy will be conducted to develop their

speaking, listening and writing skills.

Yoga and Aerobics and Basketball matchwill be conducted for class group IX- XII.

SEPTEMBER

Safety Rules Week

Safety is very important in one’s life. Particularly, it’s vital to teach safety rules to the students to follow the

safety rules for avoidance of any kind of mishap in their life. For inculcating the attributes of adopting safety

measures a Safety Week will be celebrated in school. They will be encouraged through motivational speeches

and skits.

Self-Defence Training session

A workshop will be organized to train students to protect themselves in emergency.

Career Counseling

A workshop will be held for the students to guide them about the opportunities they can avail in their future.

It will be conducted on 22nd September 2017.

Session on Hygiene for girls

A session on hygiene will be conducted for the girl students of Class VI-VIII 23rd September 2017.

Teacher’s Day Celebration

Teachers are the path-providers and their role is very crucial in shaping the future of the students. Thus

Teacher's Day will be celebrated by students to pay respect and honour the teachers. Students will

participate in planning and organizing a cultural programme through a special function.

Tree Plantation will be done on the same day to contribute to the conservation of Nature as well as to

create awareness among students.

International Literacy Day

International Literacy Day is celebrated on September 8 to emphasize the great importance of the literacy to

the individuals, society and communities. Students will deliver speeches on the importance of education for

improving knowledge, skill, confidence level and personality. Students will be made aware that Literacy Day

signifies the recognition of our country to strive towards total and complete literacy for the nation.

Self-Maintenance Week

It’s very important in present times to keep ourselves updated and well maintained. The students of primary

classes need a special care and at that very age they must be taught to maintain themselves and to learn the

healthy habits and good conduct. For that a special week will be celebrated and the teachers will spare time

to approach the students individually to teach them to maintain themselves.

World Ozone Day

A great threatening which is facing mankind is Ozone Layer Depletion. The students should be made aware of

this fact and they should take initiatives to save human beings from the hazards of it. For teaching them to

cope with the situation and to adopt alternate means, The Ozone Week will be celebrated. Eco Club will host

a special assembly for the same.

Inter House Sports like Foot Ball and Basket Ball for this month.

PG -UKG students will take part in Hindi and English Recitation.

Literary Activity Kavi Darbar and Art Activity Clay Modelling will be there for the students of class VI-

VIII.

Counseling for girls on safety

Keeping in mind the changing scenario and demands of safety in the society, girls will be counseled by lady

teachers to help them know and differentiate between good touch and bad touch. The girls will be also

shown video clippings relevant to safety and protection.

Training in Scouts and Guides for boys and girls is given on a regular basis for rendering their services to the

society to make them responsible citizens. Award Ceremony will be held as and when required for the

students.

OCTOBER

Gandhi Jayanti

The second term begins with Gandhi Jayanti celebration. Students will pay tributes to their leader by

delivering speeches, reciting poems and singing patriotic songs. The Heritage Club will be organizing a special

assembly on International Day of Non-Violence with maximum participation of students to inculcate the

goodness of the famous tenets of Gandhiji.

World Teachers Day will be observed by honouring the teachers for their contribution towards mankind.

World Post Day- ICT club will take up an activity to aware the students for the postal services.

United Nations Day- British council club will hold a special assembly to aware students about the role of

UNO and it’s agencies in different fields to bring harmony in the world.

Rangoli Making Competition and Greeting Card MakingCompetition

The students of class III to V will participate in the Competition. The students of class I and II will participate in

Diya Decoration Competition. The students will participate with great enthusiasm and make beautiful Rangoli

& cards. They were very creative in their work and decorated the diyas beautifully.

Athletic Heats and Athletic Meet

It will be organized in the school with 100% participation of students from all classes to develop sportsman

spirit and healthy competition. Events will be planned and executed, spread over a time period of 7 days.

Fun Fair on Children’s Day Celebration and Alumni Meet

A day for the children to have all fun andentertainment will be held as a fete to be organized for them. The

school will also organize an Alumni Meet on 14th November to honour the alumni who are seeking their

fortune in different prospective. The alumni will share their experiences.

School Exhibition

An exhibition will be held to display subject wise creativity of the students. Apart from all the subjects, art

and craft will held wherein students will display the models and exhibits made by them.

National Integration Day

To inculcate the strength of unity and integration among the students a day for the same will be taken as the

National integration Day and activity will be held by IAYP Club.

Apart from it IAYP Club will also organize a flag day for communal harmony.

World Science Day

Science club will organize a special assembly on World Science Day for peace and development.

Health Hygiene and Fitness Week

To make students aware about their health and hygiene a week will be celebrated.

Co-Scholastic Activities

Inter House Sports like Volley Ball will be organised along with Kho-Kho for boys and girls.

Inter House Cultural Competitions like Quiz for classes from I-V.

Tear and Paste activity will be conducted for classes PG- UKG.

DECEMBER

World Aids Day

A skit in the assembly by Eco Club will be presented on the world AIDS Day. This day is dedicated to raise

awareness among the students.

International Anti-corruption Day

A day will be observed against corruption. An awareness campaign will be organized for the students.

National Youth Day

The National Youth Day is celebrated every year to encourage and inspire the young students, to motivate

them towards formation of character and strength of mind. National Youth Day will be celebrated on 12th

January with speeches, recitations and presentations. Students will be motivated to follow the ideals of

Swami Vivekananda to lead a better life.

PTM: Parent Teacher Meeting will be arranged to discuss progress of students of class XII.

Republic Day Celebration and Sports Day: Republic day will be celebrated in a colourful and exciting way to

display India’s rich culture. The students will perform rhythmic drill dance and will put up a cultural

programme.

Martyrs’ Day – A special event will be organized by Heritage Club onThe Martyrs’ Day to remember all our martyrs and work for the country’s peace, unity, progress and welfare. It will be observed in school to salute the martyrdom of soldiers who lost their lives for the nation to inculcate patriotism in students. India Tourism Day, Indian voter Day A special assembly will be organized to make students aware of their constitutional right to vote and to sensitize them to take care of places of tourism. World Mother Tongue Day Hindi Literary Club will hold a special assembly along with a small skit to make students aware about Mother Tongue.

World Day for Social Justice

Consumer club will be holding a small activity to create awareness about consumer rights among the

students.

National Science Day

Science Club will have a special assembly on this day.

Farewell to Class XII Blessing ceremony will be organized to wish the senior students good luck for a bright and prosperous future ahead. Students of Class XI will bid farewell to the seniors. A lot of learning and exchange of values and good feelings will take place which shall go a long way in maintaining a positive relationship and building a positive climate in the school.
