Bus Line Safety Concern
Unfortunately on Monday afternoon we had a minor bus incident when a car attempted to pass
the bus line on the right while the busses were lined up and loading students during dismissal. I
ask again, for the safety of the students and bus drivers, that you don’t attempt to pass the busses
on Fairview Ave. during drop off and dismissal. If the busses are lined up on Fairview Ave.
please leave the upper parking lot via the entrance/exit on 5th
Street. I understand that this might
not be the fastest way for you to leave school however, the extra time it may take you could
prevent a serious incident. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter and for helping to keep
our students safe.

Don’t Forget to Attend Mass This Weekend
Jesus, like each of us, encountered temptation. This gospel story from Matthew makes it sound
very dramatic. If it were made into a movie, Hollywood would take off with it and make it mind-
blowing ~ as only they can. But, this was real for Jesus as temptations are real for us in our daily
lives. How many things, circumstances and even people try to turn us away from God ~ turn us
away from doing what is honest and good ~ turn us away from being who we are called to be? In
the face of those temptations, do we stand strong and lean on our faith knowing that God has
called us to be honest and loving? In the face of those temptations, do we look the other way and
allow ourselves to be drawn in and become a part of things that are evil and sinful? Jesus was
tempted yet, He did not let the lure of Satan diminish who He was. When He walked the earth
and still today, Jesus teaches us that God comes first in our lives. God is the center and focal
point of all that we are and all that we do. It is in HIM that we live and move and have our being!
If we believe this ~ if we embrace this, we, too, can overcome temptations. The Holy Season of
Lent has begun. The 40 Days of Lent give us opportunities to reflect on the choices we make and
honestly discern if what we do and what we say are life-giving or damaging to our hearts and
souls. Can we look “honestly” into our hearts and reflect on how we have lived the Gospel
message of love? Are we willing to make changes where change is needed? Are we able to
acknowledge when we have fallen short and allowed ourselves to give into temptations? Can we
say we are sorry or offer forgiveness to another? For some, Lent is about giving up candy, soda,
watching TV…….. All of those things are good and they help us to make sacrifices and focus
our hearts on Jesus. Is there something we can DO during Lent? Can we be more caring….. more
honest….. more helpful at home or in the classroom….. more reverent during prayer….. more
like Jesus in all that we do and say? There is a quote that says, “Let today be the day you give up
who you’ve been for who you can become.” Each of us has to decide how we will journey these
40 days of Lent. As we do whatever it is we will do, let us pray for one another that we will be
open to the many graces and blessings of this holy season.
Prayers
Please continue to keep all our St. Ann families in your prayers especially the families of
Benjamin McCabe, Eli McDonald, Bridget McDonnell, Aaliyah McFadden, and Ezekiel
Melendez for whom we are praying for this week. Please keep our school nurse, Miss Paige’s
daughter Nylah in your prayers as she recovers from surgery. We also ask that you keep the
Seagreaves family in your prayers. Alex’s grandfather passed away suddenly last week. Also
pray for the Morsch family; Nathan, Harrison and Simon’s great grandfather passed away this
week, and for Msgr. Coyle’s brother who is recovering from open heart surgery.
