TODAY’S GOSPEL TELLS US . . .
John 15:9-17 efore he ascended to take “his seat at the right hand of God,” Jesus entrusted his saving mission to “preach the gospel” to the disciples. When the gospel is effectively preached by “those who believe,” it is accompanied by signs. What signs accompany believers today?
B
So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God. (Gospel)
The 7th Sunday of Easter, CELEBRATION OF ASCENSION May 17th, 2015
St. Anthony Parish Prayer for the Week
Almighty God, Lord of the harvest of souls, we ask You to guide and bless all who have gone forth to preach the gospel. Endow them with the gifts of generosity and concern. Send your Holy Spirit on them, that He may strengthen them in weakness, comfort them in trials and direct their efforts. May He open the hearts of their listeners to receive Your message. Let Your revelation enlighten all minds for the salvation of souls. May Your love heal every heart and body for the happiness of each person and serve You by living the teachings of Your Son. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
FRIENDLY REMINDER: Wells Fargo Bank has generously allowed us to use their parking area free of charge for many years. They have only asked that our parishioners not park in or around the entire drive thru area of the bank. Failure to abide by this request will result in your car being towed at your expense.
MASS INTENTIONS: If you wish to have a Mass offered for a deceased or living family member, or for a special intention, you may contact the parish office, 404-758-8861, to request a date and time of Mass. A minimum offering of $10.00 for the Mass is appropriate. Please make check out to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. In the memo section write, “Mass Intention.”
