Dear Grandmasters, Masters, NGB Presidents and Coaches,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I take great pleasure to invite you to the 7th

International Martial Arts Games (7th IMG) to be held in Minsk, Belarus from 29th

November to 4th December 2017.

The 7thInternational Martial Arts Games will be supported by the Minstry of Sport and

Tourism of the Republic of Belarus.

We assure you that the 7th International Martial Arts Games will provide an important

opportunity to all martial arts members to exchange their experiences and new ideas. We

will do our best to provide you the 7thInternational Martial Arts Games on a high level

and pleasant stay in Minsk, Belarus.

Minsk is the capital and largest city of Belarus, situated on the Svislach and Nyamiha rivers. It is the administrative centre of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). In 2013, it had a population near 2 million people.

Geography Minsk is located on the southeastern slope of the Minsk Hills, a region of rolling hills running from the southwest (upper reaches of the river Nioman) to the northeast – that is, to Lukomskaye Lake in northwestern Belarus. The average altitude above sea level is 220 metres (720 ft). The geography of Minsk was formed during the two most recent ice ages. The Svislach River, which flows across the city from the northwest to the southeast, is located in the urstromtal, an ancient river valley formed by water flowing from melting ice sheets at the end of the last Ice Age. Also within the city limits are six smaller rivers, all part of the Black Sea basin. Minsk is located in the area of mixed forests typical of most of Belarus. Pinewood and mixed forests border the edge of the city, especially in the north and east. Some of the forests were preserved as parks (for instance, the Chelyuskinites Park) as the city grew.

Climate Minsk has a warm summer hemiboreal humid continental climate, owing to its location between the strong influence of the moist air of the Atlantic Ocean and the dry air of the Eurasian landmass. Its weather is unstable and tends to change often. The average January temperature is –4.5 °C, while the average July temperature is 18.5 °C

Transport in Minsk

Various types of land transport provide transportation around the city: trolley, bus, tram, taxi, interurban, metro. All types of transport except for taxis services start their working day at 5.30 am and ends at 1.00 am. You can buy tickets for land transport at kiosks in the streets, in the shops’ box offices, as well as from the conductor and from the driver (more expensive). The cost of the ticket for public land transport and metro is 0. 2 EUR. Tickets must be validated as soon as you get into the transport.

Taxi in Minsk can be found outside hotels, the airport, railway stations, on the street taxi rank. You can book it by phone or online. Payments are made only in cash, credit cards are not accepted. The average cost of a three-kilometer taxi ride in Minsk is 0.5 EUR

Conditions for participation in the 7th IMG Games: All martial artists are welcome to participate who belong to either an International Martial Art Federation or National Martial Art Federation or Individual Martial Art organization of above mentioned disciplines.

5. Important information

Rules of the competition:

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the International Federations of the respective martial disciplines approved by IMGC HQ for these Games.

Participants must follow the dress code and rules of the competitions.

Demonstrations

Any team of any Martial arts is encouraged to conduct demonstrations and particularly the traditional demonstrations inherent to any regional and country are welcome. The duration of demonstration should not exceed 7 minutes.

Each competitor must have medical insurance. The organizer will not be responsible for any injury or loss for the participants, before, during and after the 7 th IMG Games.

Winners will be awarded with medals and diplomas. Demonstration teams will be awarded with diplomas.

Every country should bring their National Anthem on CD and National flag and deliver them to the organizer during the registration. The size of the flag should be approximately 100cm x 200cm.

Team representatives must follow the schedule of the competition and provide the attendance of athletes at the time.

Exhibition: The representatives of each type of martial arts can participate in the exhibition, which tells about the history and characteristics of their sport and country, by presenting the booklet, souvenir, symbols, paintings, handicraft ect.

The entry fee for individual competitors is 30 euro
