NASA and the Soviets send probes to Mars 1971

The NASA Mariner 9 became the first spacecraft to orbit another planet on November 14th.

The Soviets Mars 2 and Mars 3 arrived a month later, and sent a probe down to the planet.

Lebanon civil war begins 1975

• Sparked by Christians killing a busload of Palestinians and other Muslims, the country was quickly thrown into a war between the privileged Christians. Bang!Bang!

• Soviet union was forced to abandon its efforts to send people to the moon.

• March 25, 1947, he was born.

• Most of his music was popular during the 70s.

• His first concert was in the 70s.

• Rocket Man" and "Honky Cat," were huge hits.

• April 22, 1950, he was born.

• Born in Beckenham, England.

• He was 19 years old when he went on his own tour.

Current/Direct Current" and refers to electrical currents. Angus Young liked the way that this name symbolized the band's
