This was the second consecutive ASPIRE UGRA conducted by KAIST. The program was first launched in 2014 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. A total of 11 students from three ASPIRE League member universities participated in the 2018 ASPIRE UGRA. The program was designed for undergraduate students currently working on research projects related to the program theme. During the course of the program, participating students took turns presenting their research, receiving feedback from KAIST lecturers and fellow UGRA participants. KAIST faculty member Professor KIM Young Chul, an expert on Urban Design and Planning, provided two special lectures. An excursion day was held in the middle of the program, and participants visited major research laboratories doing work related to Smart Cities and gained exposure to case studies. The program enabled participants to learn about the latest developments in smart cities research and to improve their communication, presentation, creative‐thinking and problem‐solving skills.

1. Summary: 

1) Name:        The 5th ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Academy (UGRA)

6) Overview: 

KAIST conducted the 5th ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Academy (UGRA) on its main campus in
