Greetings Kentucky 4-H! I have been proud to serve Kentucky 4-H as your Vice President in 2016-2017. Through everyone's support I've been able to experience the difference that 4-H makes in our beautiful state of Kentucky. We are blessed to have such a strong program in our state. This teen conference will be one everyone will remember. This is where life-long friendships are made. Look around you, these people will always be with you through your journey in life. They will be with you through the good and the bad. They will make your life worth every breath. Keep these days at Teen Conference and in 4-H close to the heart. I wouldn't change one thing that's ever happened because I would not be the person I am today. This year serving you has taught me so many things. Without everyone in 4-H supporting the officer team, we would not be able to accomplish what we have this year.
If there is one piece of advice I would give to everyone it is this; apply yourself to whatever you love. If you apply yourself, you can accomplish anything. Thank you for your support and enjoy Teen Conference 2017! -JD Noe
Hello Teen Conference! It has been an honor to serve as your State 4-H Secretary this past year. From travelling to all corners of the state, to taking minutes at the State Teen Council meetings, and making new friends, I can certainly say I have had the best year yet. I want to thank all of you again for electing me as your State Secretary last June and allowing me to have this life changing experience. This week is going to be one to remember for all of us. You get to enjoy fun workshops, meet people across the state, elect this upcoming years officers, and watch my team and I hang up our jackets one last time. If I haven’t had the opportunity to meet you, please stop me so we can meet and chat for a bit. Even if we have already met and shared some good times…still stop me because you know I would love to see you again! I hope you have the best week with new friends and great memories! Thank you, Kentucky 4-H, for the best year yet! -Rebecca Hayes
Hey y’all! Welcome to Kentucky 4-H State Teen Conference. I hope you all are ready for one of the
most memorable 4-H experiences of your life! I am beyond excited to spend the next few days with all
of you on UK’s campus. I have had one incredibly remarkable year serving as your State 4-H Treasurer.
I have been blessed and welcomed by so many of you and your counties. I will forever cherish the
friendships that I have made during my officer tenure. The kindness and love that I have seen across
the Bluegrass will stay with me forever. I have witnessed firsthand how the love for Kentucky 4-H is
infinitely spread across the state. We are a proud 4-H state and I have been honored to represent you.
I would like to encourage all of you to take advantage of the opportunities and friendships that will be
offered to you this week! Life is what you make it. I have made the most of my officer year and I hope
that you do the same this week. Don’t be afraid to join in on that conversation on the elevator or talk
to your fellow 4-H’er in the Starbucks line. We 4-H’ers have a deep love for what we do. I’ve seen it
this year. Now let it shine through you this week. I can’t wait to end my officer year with all of you
extraordinary 4-H’ers on the dance floor! ~Paloma Falcon

Hart County, D6 The most important characteristics of a state 4-H
officer are to uphold the 4-H pledge. I’ve spent my life saying
the pledge and ultimately unknowingly began to live it. Each
line in the pledge does represent the required characteristics of
an officer.
“I pledge my head to clearer thinking.” By thinking
clearer, I have become the person I am today. I’ve thought
about what I wanted to achieve. I’ve made plans on what I
want to achieve.
“My heart to greater loyalty.” I have always been
faithful to the 4-H program including friends, family and 4-H
projects. I’ve been loyal to the programs 4-H has offered.
I’ve always tried to be a leader in my clubs. I’ve always
dedicated my heart to the Kentucky 4-H State Teen Council,
where I have assisted in planning events with my 4-H family.
“My hands to larger service” is represented by the
numerous community service projects that I have completed at
the county, state and national level. My 4-H community
service and my church mission work have all played a part in
my character development. My favorite community service
projects include both 4-H projects and church mission work.
“My health to better living for my club, my
community, my country and my world.” Through 4-H, I have
promoted a healthy lifestyle by participating in healthy
cooking classes and even running a 4K.
These characteristics are just a few. The 4-H State
Officers should be able to live by this pledge, not only because
they want to be an officer but also because they want to make
a difference in society.

Picture a green jacket printed with a white clover and the words
head, heart, hands, health. This same jacket has become synonymous
with one of the highest honors in 4-H: being a State 4-H Officer.
Worn by past officers and present officers sharing the goal to better
Kentucky 4-H, this jacket has big sleeves to fill. The officer who
wears this jacket should possess the characteristics of passion,
professionalism, and persistence.
Officers should use their love of 4-H to inspire people of all ages to
make the best better. I have been extremely passionate about 4-H
since I was 9 years old. Through my involvement in various clubs,
projects, and conference, 4-H has bettered me and I want to better 4-
H in return.
Holding a high position, like a State 4-H Officer, requires
professionalism. Officers are the face of Kentucky 4-H and should
act in a manner that correctly portrays our organization. They should
conduct themselves in a respectful manner, dress appropriately, be
on time, and serve humbly. My parents, as well as 4-H, has instilled
in me how a young lady should conduct herself. Whether that be
doing business or being accepting and respectful of everyone.
Any position you hold will come with challenges, and this position is
no different. A State 4-H Officer should be persistent in solving
problems in 4-H. They need to use teamwork, creativity, and
determination to work through obstacles they will face throughout
their term. I first became a member of STC, I realized how
disconnected my district was. With the help of my 4-H Agent and
other council members, we overcame this obstacle by creating the
District 5 4-H Teen Council which is still active today.
As you see a State 4-H Officer should possess characteristics of
passion, professionalism, and persistence. I believe I possess these
characteristics. The green jacket has been worn by past and present
officers, and I hope I get the opportunity to fill it in the future.

Hello, and welcome to the 2017 State 4-H Teen Conference! My name
is Laura Flannery and I am running to be your next State 4-H
Secretary! I currently am serving my second year on the 4-H State
Teen Council, and in my two years of State Teen Council, I have
grown close to State Officer and I have learned so much from them.
I want you to know who I am in the 4-H Program. I started
photography when I was five years old entering my projects into the
county fair. I moved forward with leadership opportunities such as
Speech and Demonstration Contest, STC and state conferences. I
have won 3 state cooking competitions and competed at Nationals for
Culinary Challenge, Chicken BBQ, and Turkey BBQ. I have attended
National 4-H Congress for my State Gold Achievement Award. These
are just some of the many accomplishments and projects I have done
in 4-H. I want to meet and talk to all of you, to help you achieve your
goals in 4-H. I look forward to your vote. Laura Flannery, your next
State 4-H Secretary.
I’m Mattea Wyatt and I want to be your next Kentucky State 4-H Secretary!
My 4-H background has been a light year in the making. When I was younger I
was shy and always hid behind my mom! I started participating in 4-H activities
and soon I broke out of my starship.
Now you can catch me around Kentucky with my lightsaber shining high for
4-H. Meanwhile in another galaxy, I was in 4-H Horticulture Club. My fellow
jedis and I won the State Fair 4-H Senior Horticulture Judging. I actually won
National Horticulture Demonstration! Currently, I am serving as the Co-Chair
of the Issues Conference and a member of the State Teen Council. If you vote
Mattea for State 4-H Secretary I am determined to unite all the clubs in the
galaxy of Kentucky 4-H and hope to get ot know all the jedis!
May the Clover be with you!

Hello, Kentucky 4-H! My name is Brandon Darby, and I hope to be your
next State 4-H Treasurer. My earliest memories of 4-H are entering crops
and showing pigs in the county fair in Michigan as a Cloverbud. Today, I
serve as President of the Nelson County and District 5 Teen Councils, as
well as Program Assistant on the State Teen Council. KET workshops at
Teen Conference helped me find my passion for filmmaking. I’m proud to
be attending the University of Kentucky in the fall as I pursue a career in
filmmaking.
Through 4-H, I have had opportunities to grow as a person, as a leader,
and as friend. I will work hard so that Kentucky youth may continue to
have these great opportunities. Vote for me as your next State 4-H
Treasurer, and I promise that together, we can continue “To Make the Best
Better!”
I am so excited to be running for the of State 4-H Treasurer! I’ve had a
passion for 4-H that’s been burning since the age of nine when I first
attended 4-H camp. Since then, I have spent countless hours volun-
teering and attending club meetings. I’ve been involved in speech and
debate competitions, met with elected officials, learned about the im-
portance of the horticulture and agriculture businesses in Kentucky,
and even started my own business through 4-H. I’m currently serving
on State Teen Council representing District 6, but I want to take my
love of 4-H state wide as a 4-H officer!
Outside of 4-H I’ve been involved in school musicals, BETA club,
SNHS, pageantry and cheerleading. This fall, I will be attending WKU’s
Honors College where I hope to be involved in similar activities. Vote
for me, Amanda Harder, as your next Kentucky State 4-H Treasurer
