Dear Participant, Welcome to Frascati. In order to make your stay in Frascati easier we would like to present here some meeting logistics and tourist information about the Frascati / Rome area.

Registration

The registration for the meeting will take place at the “Building 1 – Reception Desk”. The registration desk will be open: Monday, 21 January 2008 from 09.30 am The Workshop will take place in Magellan Conference Room starting at 11.00 hrs. The room will be equipped with wifi. Internet and Speaker room is located in the room ANNEX, behind the Reception at building 1. Please do not hesitate to contact the conference registration desk for any questions you may have.

Coffee Breaks

Coffee and tea during the scheduled programme breaks will be served at Building 1 according to the Programme.

Poster Session

Your poster session will take place in the Cook conference room on the 22nd of January. During your Poster Session you will be served with Wine and Cheese.

Conference Social Events

On the 21st of January at 18:30 Welcome Cocktail will be hosted by ESA and will be served in the ESRIN Canteen

A : LEONARDO EXPRESS non stop train service to Rome centre At 30 minute intervals from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Termini station from 05.57 to 23.35 hrs At 30 minute intervals from Rome Termini station (platforms 25-27) to Fiumicino Airport from 05.03 to 22.52 hrs Train times may vary on Sundays and public holidays. The journey takes about 30 minutes. A one-way ticket costs EURO 8.78. Tickets can be purchased at vending machines inside both the domestic and international arrival halls and at the railway stations. B : Train Service Rome Centre to Frascati valid up to 31Oct please check on www.trenitalia.it A one-way ticket costs EURO 1.70. At Frascati they are available from the tobacco stand at the station. At the Rome Termini station tickets may be purchased at the check-in area of platform 24, or the self-service machine in the main station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. All trains run Monday to Saturday. The Sunday service trains are marked with an asterisk.

The Tor Vergata train stop is located some 50 mt. From ESRIN. (Turn left at the station exit. Walk 50 mt. Cross the bridge and you are at the main

USEFUL INFORMATION Public transport to Rome (other than train) Bus to underground You can get a bus from the bus station in the centre of Frascati - just opposite the Town Hall (the Comune in PiazzaMarconi). The bus will take you as far as Anagnina which is the nearest underground station. You must buy your ticket in advance. Tickets may be purchased at the tobacconist's. The Cotral ticket to Rome costs EURO 1.00. It is better to buy your return ticket at the same time. Underground You can take the underground to different parts of Rome. There are two lines : A and B. You can change from one to the other at the Termini stop. Carnets of 10 tickets are available at a cost of EURO 10.00 from tobacconists, some newspaper stands and the main underground stations. Ticket machines are also available at all stations. The ticket is valid for 75 minutes from the first time you use it. You may use each ticket twice within the 75 minutes but only once for the underground. To get the Frascati bus from the Anagnina underground station, take the right exit and keep on walking to the end of the tunnel. Go up the steps. The bus stop is just near the newspaper stand. The underground CLOSES at 21.00 hrs and the last bus to Frascati from Anagnina station leaves at 21.30 hrs. TAXI Yellow taxis in Rome normally charge according to mileage but try to agree a price in advance for any journey to Frascati, as it is outside the Rome area. SHOPPING HOURS Shopping hours in Frascati are as follows : 08.30 - 13.00 16.30 - 19.30 The shops normally close on Thursday afternoons and all day Sunday. You may find some food shops open on Sundays. The GS supermarket in the centre of Frascati is open 08.00 - 20.00 Monday to Saturday and on Sunday morning 08.00 - 13.00. Shopping hours in Rome are more or less the same except that the shops are closed on Monday morning and open about 16.00 on Monday afternoons. The food shops in Rome close on Thursday afternoons and are open on Monday morning. A WORD OF ADVICE PLEASE TAKE CARE OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS. IN PARTICULAR, IF YOU GO INTO ROME, IT IS ADVISABLE TO LEAVE YOUR PASSPORT AND CREDIT CARDS IN THE HOTEL SAFE AND JUST TAKE SPENDING MONEY
