Ken Strassner is an honors graduate (Magna cum Laude) of Yale College (1968) andof Yale Law School (1974). Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark in 1976, Mr. Strassnerserved as an officer in the U. S. Navy, practiced with a Washington, D.C. law firmand served as Executive Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Labor forOccupational Safety and Health. Mr. Strassner’s legal specialties include U.S. andinternational environmental and energy law, product safety matters and occupationalsafety and health requirements.

In 1988, Mr. Strassner was appointed Vice President-Environment and Energy,Kimberly-Clark Corporation, responsible for formulation of corporate policies andmanagement of the Corporation's technical support staffs in both areas. From 2004 to2008, Ken served as Vice President - Global Environment, Safety, Regulatory andScientific Affairs for Kimberly-Clark. In 2009, Ken became a Senior Associate at theAHC Group after retiring from Kimberly-Clark.

Dr. Tim Lindsey joined Caterpillar in February of 2012 to lead enterprise efforts to build aculture of sustainability. His team focuses on integrating sustainability principles into allinternal business units as well as Caterpillar's many suppliers, dealers, and customers.Prior to joining Caterpillar, Dr. Lindsey spent 20 years at the University of Illinois leadinga wide range of research, education, and outreach initiatives focused on improving businesssustainability. He and his staff helped hundreds of organizations improve their processes,products, and systems through the development and implementation of innovations thatreduce their utilization of energy, materials, water, and land.

He is an accomplished program and project manager with experience in multiple industrialsectors, including: energy, mining, machining, metal finishing, die-casting, electronics,agriculture, food processing, biofuels, and chemical processing. For 7 years prior tocommencing his academic career, he worked for ExxonMobil at a Powder River Basin coalmine where he held various positions, including: Environmental Engineer, Safety Director,and Senior Construction Project Manager.

Dr. Lindsey is a nationally recognized expert regarding the implementation of innovativesustainability practices. He holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in EnvironmentalEngineering from Southern Illinois University and a Doctorate in Urban and RegionalPlanning from the University of Illinois

Richard Ellis is the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at the Alliance BootsGroup.

Richard has spent the past 30 years working for a range of Companies on all aspects of theCSR agenda.

The early part of his career was spent in Banking before becoming involved in CSR afterthe Inner City riots of the early 1980s. After this involvement he held CSR relatedpositions at HSBC, TSB, British Aerospace and ran his own CSR consultancy for five years.

In 2003 he joined Boots and became responsible for all the Company’s CSR activities.Following the merger between Boots and Alliance UniChem and the subsequent PrivateEquity Buy Out he was appointed into his current role.

The External View from within Monsanto: Human Rights,Public Affairs & Strategic Partnerships

Maureen MazurekIntroduced by: Gerry Bresnick, AHC Group

Maureen Mazurek is the Director of Sustainability Strategy and Operations. She and herteam are responsible for the development and implementation of Monsanto’s company-wide Sustainability Strategy and reporting processes. Prior to her current role, Maureenwas responsible for the Communication Strategy for Monsanto’s newly formed BiologicalAgriculture business. She was Director Corporate Responsibility for Monsanto Company.In that capacity she was responsible for the company’s corporate responsibility strategy.

The strategy included measureable advancement in sustainability including the company’sadoption of GRI reporting, the initial design of the company’s first corporate sustainabilitycouncil, the original development and implementation of Monsanto’s global human rightssupply chain effort, development of an industry coalition to eliminate child labor inagriculture supply chains and led Monsanto’s environmental partnerships.

In Maureen’s 20 years with Monsanto she has developed a broad operational background,including key leadership roles in Agriculture Procurement/Supply Chain, CommercialEnvironmental, Safety and Health (ESH), Human Resources, and a number ofManufacturing positions.

Maureen holds a BS in Supply Chain & Manufacturing Management from Bowling GreenUniversity, Executive Chemistry from Duke University and a Masters in BusinessAdministration (MBA) from Tulane University.

Steve Willis

Steve Willis joined the AHC Group as a Senior Associatein 2008. He is the former Global Director of WhirlpoolCorporation's health, safety, and environmental (HSE)management system, having retired in 2007 after 33 yearsof service, including his last 22 years as the senior HSEprofessional for the corporation. All but four of his yearswith Whirlpool were directly or indirectly involved withHSE responsibilities at the research, manufacturing, andcorporate leadership levels. In those four “missing” years,Steve was learning the business of plant management inleadership positions in process and industrial engineering atWhirlpool’s largest plant in the world.

Prior to Whirlpool, Steve had seven years of experience working for NASA on researchprojects involving regenerative life support systems for long- duration manned spaceflights at NASA's Langley Research Center in Virginia. His most unique challenge wasdeveloping a zero-gravity shower that the astronauts insisted their fellow astronautsneeded.

Steve graduated with honors from Virginia Tech University in 1969 with a B.S. inEngineering Mechanics, and from Vanderbilt University in 1973 with an M.S. inEnvironmental and Water Resources Engineering. At Vanderbilt, he was the recipient of aWhirlpool Fellowship in Environmental Studies. Steve is a registered professionalengineer in the State of Ohio.

Steve and his wife Pam relocated from Michigan to Arizona in 2007, where they both findretirement exceeding their high expectations, particularly when Steve can continue tobuild on his career while working with an outstanding group of clients and colleagues.

Friedman heads corporate responsibility communicationsworldwide for Sodexo and serves on the corporate responsibility steering committee.

His background includes developing and implementing effective and award-winningprograms that maximize stakeholder engagement, community relations, organizationaldevelopment, change management, and strategic philanthropy.

Throughout social media, Friedman is recognized as a sustainability thought leader,one of the 100 leading voices in CSR by Global CEO Magazine, and has regularly beenincluded among the top voices in CSR by Forbes’ Brandfog. Mark Sasek is Global Health and Safety Manager for Celanese, and leads a teamresponsible for global strategy, policies, and management pertaining to safety,industrial hygiene and medical issues.

Celanese is a technology and specialty materials company with 7600 employees locatedin 35 facilities in 18 countries around the world. Products include specialtythermoplastics, sweeteners and preservatives, filter material, intermediate chemistries,and polymers for paint, adhesives, and carpets.

Prior to joining Celanese in 2012, Mr. Sasek served in a number of leadership roles forEnvironmental Health, Safety, Process Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Security,Emergency Response, and Medical for LyondellBasell, General Electric, and IMCGlobal. He has extensive experience in designing and implementing strategies thathave achieved world class performance in the chemical, refining, and largemanufacturing industries.

His role includes regular consultation with senior management onsustainability and EH&S matters, including participation in the Compliance Council andfacilitation of the Corporate Sustainability Leadership Committee (CLSC). Flextronics was afounding member of the Electronics Industry Citizen Coalition (EICC) and Bruce currentlyserves as an EICC Board member and as Vice-Chair for the organization.

Previously, Bruce leveraged his unusual blend of business, environmental and legal expertise tohelp integrate sustainability strategy into Applied Materials' worldwide operations. Amongother efforts, Bruce created a safety culture initiative that helped reduce injury ratescontinuously over a seven-year timeframe. He developed Applied's high-level sustainabilitypolicy and guiding principles, published the company's first non-financial external reports,initiated an award-winning product energy efficiency strategy and led the formation of a socialand environmental supply chain program. A highly effective communicator and team leader,Bruce served as the principal spokesperson for Applied's sustainability programs and played akey role in numerous industry and professional development efforts.

Prior to joining Applied Materials, Bruce had a distinguished legal career in public and privatepractice, specializing in environmental and natural resources law. Bruce began his legal careeras a California Deputy Attorney General, representing various state agencies, including theWater Resources Control Board, the Air Resources Board, Parks and Recreation, Fish andWildlife and others. Bruce also practiced law for a number of years with Orrick, Herrington &Sutcliffe, a top 100 U.S. law firm. Among his specialties, Bruce was a recognized expert intransactional due diligence.

The purpose of thisworkshop is to continuously improve and strengthen the riskmanagement skills of participants and to evolve a moreeffective business model for managing corporate environmental

liabilities. Workshops not only focus on best practices and new risk management toolsbut identify and assess emerging issues that help to define program strategies. Over theyears, it has transformed to focus on a broader topic range which includes financialassurance, disclosure, operational/enterprise risk, and sustainable remediation.Participants recognize that in the future there will likely be a different approach toremediation and to be responsive to an even greater and more complex challenge theymust continuously fine-tune their management skill.

Dwight has presented testimony at state, federal and public hearings, participated innumerous state, federal, and international industry forums as a presenter and panelist onissues related to Superfund, RCRA, Cost/Benefit, Tort Reform, Brownfield's, EminentDomain, NRD, Risk Assessment, Risk Communication, Contaminated Sediments andSarbanes Oxley. Dwight has also conducted numerous industry benchmark studies,served on Corporate Advisory Boards and published articles in LexisNexis. Beforeretiring from DuPont in 2008, Dwight spent 40 years in a variety of plantproduction , technical, R&D, project design/liaison, environmental and businessmanagement roles. Dwight participated in the formation and startup of a 100% DuPontsubsidiary — DuPont Environmental Remediation Services (DERS) and formation of theDuPont Corporate Remediation Group. Dwight is a graduate of Auburn University witha BS and MS in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Economics.

Managing Real Estate Risk Around the WorldBob Lockemer

Robert C. (Bob) Lockemer has worked in the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE)field for over 30 years. As a consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency inthe mid-1970’s, he helped develop the Wastewater Effluent Guidelines for the OreMining and Dressing Industry, one of the first Effluent Guidelines issued. Since then,Bob has spent half of his career in corporate functions providing strategic advice andtechnical support to senior management and site management in the chemical industry.The other half of his career has been spent in chemical manufacturing sites putting whathe preaches into practice and achieving positive HSE results. His current responsibilitiesfor Bayer CropScience include real estate and historic environmental issues around theworld.

Bob has a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering and a Master of Science degree inChemical Engineering. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineersand Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society.

Eric VanDellen is currently responsible for managing global sustainability programsat Amway including metrics, energy, and water conservation. In addition, hesupports real estate transactions and tax incentives, and global insurance coveragefor the corporation. Prior to that position, he managed Environment, Health &Product Safety, with responsibilities for environmental and occupational healthcompliance, auditing, remediation, and toxicology.

He has published in the fields of microbiology, nutritional analysis, drinking watertreatment, and environmental toxicology. His early career at Amway included groupleader positions in nutritional analysis and microbiology labs. Eric is the pastChairman of the Environmental Quality and Energy Committee for the MichiganChamber of Commerce, twice the past board president of the West MichiganSustainable Business Forum and an active member of the American CleaningInstitute’s Sustainability Committee.

He received his BA and MA in chemistry from Western Kentucky University, andattended school on an athletic scholarship.

Is It Worth Worrying About Water Risk?Ed Pinero

Mr. Pinero is Senior Vice President for Sustainability for Veolia North America (VNA),and liaison to Veolia’s worldwide Corporate Social Responsibility and Public Affairsdepartments. Mr. Pinero oversees all efforts related to sustainability, in regard tooutreach, client issues, and internal practices, including the water, energy, and wastebusiness lines. VNA provides leading edge water, energy and environmental serviceand technology activities, and has approximately 10,000 employees and generatesapproximately $2 billion in annual revenue.

Over his more than 34 year career, Mr. Pinero has worked in the private sector,including as a consultant to many clients on sustainability, environment, and energy.He has also served in the public sector at the state and Federal level addressingsustainability issues; including serving as the White House Federal EnvironmentalExecutive, where he focused on developing and implementing sustainability policy andpractices within the US Federal government. Mr. Pinero served in state government inPennsylvania as both the Director of the Bureau of Environmental Sustainability,Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; as well as holding the office ofPennsylvania State Energy Director. He started his career as an oil and gas geologistwith Mobil Oil Corporation.

Mr. Pinero is heavily involved in water management and stewardship initiatives aroundthe world, including the UN CEO Water Mandate, the Alliance for Water StewardshipInternational Standards Development Committee; and ISO’s Integrated Water TaskForce, among others. He has Bachelors of Science degree in Geology from the StateUniversity of New York and Masters of Science degree in Geology from Texas A&MUniversity. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arizona.

Brian Vassigh is BP's Global Knowledge Management and Technical Systems(KM&TS) manager for the Remediation Management (RM) function. BP's RMfunction has over 170 employees and over 1000 contract professionals working formany supplier organizations worldwide. BP's RM function has over 1500 sitesconsisting of Refineries, Mines, Retail Stations, Pipelines, Terminals and other types ofsites. Brian leads the KM&TS team to design, develop and support the InformationManagement and Business Intelligence Reporting processes, systems and strategiesfor the global RM function. Brian works with RM leadership and various managersand directors globally in RM and other BP Business Units and Functions to gainalignment and synergies on the key projects and activities to help with reducing BP'senvironmental liabilities or preventing possible future liabilities.

Brian has worked with BP's RM function since 2009 and been in the KM&TS Managerrole since 2012. Brian has been with BP since 2005 working mostly with the NorthAmerica Gas & Power trading organization leading various projects around BusinessIntelligence and Information Reporting. Prior to BP, Brian was a manager withAccenture based in the Houston office working in the Energy Trading and RiskManagement practice. Gerry Bresnick was most recently the Corporate Vice Presidentfor Environment, Health, Safety and Social Responsibility at HessCorporation prior to joining the AHC Group as a SeniorAssociate. Gerry joined Hess in June of 2001 following twenty-oneyears of experience with Amoco and BP Corporations.

Immediately prior to joining Hess he was the U.S. Director ofHealth, Safety and Environment for BP, headquartered inChicago. Prior to assuming that role he was the General Manager ofHSE Strategy for BP located in London. This role includedresponsibility for BP’s worldwide crisis management function. Gerryjoined BP following its merger with Amoco Corporation in 1998.

Gerry joined Amoco in 1980 following a brief career with an international environmentaland engineering firm, the World Bank and as an Assistant Professor of Environment andEcology. During his 18 years with Amoco, he was involved in all areas of Environment,Health and Safety. His assignments ranged from Manager of EH&S for the AmocoChemicals Company to Director of Corporate Medical Services. While at Amoco, he ranAmoco's Product Stewardship program (which included Amoco Chemicals - at that time, the5th largest chemical company in the world - and was Chair of the Product Stewardshipcommittee at what was then the Chemical Manufacturers Association. He also served asDirector of Regulatory Affair and was responsible for the EH&S Audit Program. At the timeof the BP / Amoco merger he was the Strategic and Financial Manager for Amoco SharedServices.

A native New Yorker, Gerry received his BS degrees in Biology and History from the StateUniversity of New York at Buffalo. He then received his Ph.D. in Biology (Ecology) fromTulane University and an Executive MBA from HBS.

Welch previously served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Priorto that, he served as executive vice president - Environment, Safety and Health & Facilities,since 2007. Under his leadership, the company’s commitment to sustainability advancedsignificantly, nationally and internationally, and is clearly defined in AEP’s annualCorporate Sustainability Report.

He joined AEP in 2005 as senior vice president of Environment and Safety. Welch waspreviously president and chief operating officer of Yankee Gas & Yankee Energy System, anoperating subsidiary of Northeast Utilities (NU) in Berlin, CT. He was named president andchief operating officer of Yankee Gas, Connecticut’s largest natural gas distributioncompany, and Yankee Energy System in 2001. During his tenure at Yankee Energy, Welchchaired the Northeast Gas Association for two years, helping the industry trade associationnavigate through difficult times and a merger with the New York Gas Association. A 20-year veteran of NU, Welch served as vice president of Environmental, Safety & Ethics atNU for four years immediately prior to his position at Yankee Gas & Yankee Energy.

A native of New Albany, Ind., Welch earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental, healthand safety management from Indiana State University at Terre Haute and a master’s degreein business and human resource management from the Hartford Graduate Center ofRensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also completed the Executive EnvironmentalLeadership Program at Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.

Currently, Welch serves as AEP’s policy committee co-chair voting representative to theAmerican Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) Board of Directors. He also serveson the AEP Foundation Board of Directors and he represents AEP at the World BusinessCouncil for Sustainable Development.

John K.S. Wilson is the Head of Corporate Governance, Engagement & Research atCornerstone Capital Group. John has over 16 years of experience in socially responsibleinvesting and corporate governance. He was Director of Corporate Governance forTIAA-CREF, the largest private pension system in the United States with assets undermanagement of over $500 billion. In this role, he oversaw the voting of proxies atCREF’s 8,000 portfolio companies and engaged in dialogue with corporate boards andmanagement to promote sustainability and good corporate governance. He also writesand presents widely about the relevance of social responsibility to investmentperformance for academic, corporate and investor audiences. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF in early 2008, John served as Director of Socially Responsible Investing forChristian Brothers Investment Services, an investment advisor to Catholic institutions.In that role, he led the company’s shareholder advocacy, social screening, and proxyvoting functions as well as participating in the company’s outreach to religiouscommunities around the United States.An Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia Business School, John is also a member ofthe Advisory Council to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board. He is a pastVice-Chair of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility and was a foundingadvisory committee member of the International SRI Working Group, a think tankserving social investing professionals. Prior to Mr. Butt’s current assignment he was the General Manger/ChiefEnvironmental and Safety Officer for Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing forall of Toyota’s Manufacturing operations. Prior to that assignment Mr. Butt was theAssistant General Manager of Body Production Engineering for Toyota MotorManufacturing North America, Inc., (TMMNA). He is responsible for BodyEngineering for all Toyota’s North American manufacturing operations. BodyEngineering consists of Welding, Stamping, and Painting Operations.

Mr. Butt has served as Chairman of the Association of International AutomobileManufacturing’s Stationary Source Committee. He has also served in the same capacityfor the Alliance for Automobile Manufacturers. Mr. Butt was appointed by Ms. CarolBrowner, EPA Administrator to serve on EPA’s Common Sense Initiative.

Mr. Butt serves on several boards including the National Wildlife Habitat Council,Newport Aquarium WAVE Foundation, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation,World Wildlife Fund National Council, and the North American Great Plains AdvisoryBoard.

Tim Smith serves as the Director of ESG Shareowner Engagement at Walden AssetManagement, a division of Boston Trust & Investment Management Company.Walden has been a leader in sustainable and responsible investing (SRI) since 1975. Asof December 31, 2013, Walden managed approximately $3 billion in assets forindividual and institutional clients.

Mr. Smith joined Walden in 2000 to lead Walden’s ongoing shareholder engagementprogram to promote greater corporate leadership on ESG issues. This includes companydialogues, shareholder proposals, proxy voting, and public policy advocacy. Among theareas Walden focuses on are sustainability reporting, political spending and lobbying,board diversity, executive compensation and governance, supply chain standards, wateruse, and human rights. He also serves on sustainability stakeholder dialogue teams witha number of companies.

Previously, Mr. Smith served as executive director of the Interfaith Center on CorporateResponsibility (ICCR) for 24 years. ICCR coordinates corporate responsibilityprograms for over 275 religious, institutional investors.

In 2007, 2012 and 2013, Mr. Smith was named as one of the “Top 100 Most InfluentialPeople in Business Ethics” by Ethisphere Institute. In 2008, he was elected as a boardmember of the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of the United MethodistChurch.
