A Note from Mark Greetings! Welcome to the most unique and productive outreach program you’ll have the opportunity to become acquainted with - the MN FIELD TRIP LIBRARY & EXPO! It’s all about the wonderful world of experiential learning and youthful recreation… with a friendly approach that brings educators and youth activity planners to us - as opposed to chasing after them! !It’s that time of year again, and we’re soon into 2015… our 5th year of the MN Field Trip Library & EXPO. It’s the Big 5! !First, to current Partners… Thank you for your participation in the Library, and I’ve had you in mind as next year’s program has been falling into place. It’s very exciting to see planners increasing their use of the Library, and to get reports from Partners like you, sharing news of how the Library has helped you! As a result, we can be optimistic about the continued growth of the Library! The 2014 Guides have been a “hit”, and it looks like 2015 will be another great year! !In 2014 you’ve seen the ALERTS grow in popularity as Stephanie Sauer has taken the editorial reigns. She’s doing a great job, and planners who visit the Library exhibit at numerous conferences tell us they LOVE the new look, and even better, the content! Great job, Stephanie and Partners. !Next, to those of you who are considering participating in our Partner program… You’ll soon discover that you’ve never seen anything like the Library. When you see it at work, you’ll appreciate the mantra of our initiative: “When the tide rises, all boats rise”. I hope you’ll notice - and appreciate - how we’re always striving to keep planners mindful of you on many fronts simultaneously… for the entire year! Please remember that when you join, the more you participate in our outreach programming, the more response you can get! !We’re getting ready for 2015, and you’ll see there are great new opportunities you’ll want to take advantage of… • New approaches to conferences • New outreach into neighboring states around Minnesota • New advertising opportunities in more Guides in 2015 (our 2nd year of publication) • New monthly emails: STEM & SCIENCE ALERTS, and COMMUNITIES WITH FIELD TRIPS ALERTS! • We’re working on a website “remodel”, too! Hopefully done yet this year! !Please take time to read this brochure carefully, and expect a GREAT 2015! !My best to all of you in the coming year! MarkMark Peterson, President and Publisher

ABOUT The GUIDE

Page 7: The 2015 PARTNER PROGRAM

Component #1: THE GUIDE !In 2014, the annual GUIDE is our newest outreach component… experiencing great success! THE GUIDE “is a a great publication for getting acquainted with field trips and activities”… “really attractive and easy to use”… “it got me to your website”… “I signed up for the ALERTS because of the GUIDE”… “I found out about the EXPO from the Guide”, “I didn’t realize we had so many options for field trips and assemblies until I got the Guide”, and “I’d like to take 12 back to my elementary school for my team leaders”. !We’ve been distributing the free GUIDE at each of the 2014 conferences (we’re not done yet this year, either), handing them individually to very interested planners. In fact, someone who gets the GUIDE takes ALL the PARTNERS home with them - EVERY TIME! Often they will quickly flip through it, and then come back later to request more GUIDES for fellow teachers and staff. Elementary school principals will often take back 10-15 for their Team Leaders. Frequently we’re asked by teachers and other adults if they can go to the places in the GUIDE without a group of students! What do you think we say to that? :-) !The 2014 GUIDE - 64 pages of Minnesota’s BEST provider K-12 activities - has been personally handed free of charge to thousands of educators and youth leaders! As of September 2014, the following GUIDES have already been distributed at 19 statewide conferences, plus special requests from schools, scouts & more. 11 more conferences remain in 2014! - 1,235 - MnAEYC/MnSACA - afterschool/summer programs - 235 - MESPA - Elementary Principals - field trips/school programs - 225 - MMEA Conference/K-12 Music Educators - field trips & student travel - 180 - MCEA - Community Education/afterschool programs - 14 - Girl Scouts River Valley - Int’l Jamboree Committee - 5 - Kaleidoscope Charter School/Elk River - field trips & in-school programs - 253 - MAAP Conference - alternative school programming - 85 - MnSTA - Science Teachers - field trips & in-school programs - 2,000 - Northern Star Council/TC - Scouting Leadership Roundtables - 36 - MCMA - Church Conference/Duluth - youth programs - 50 - MCMA - Church Conference/Bemidji - youth programs - 52 - MCSS - Social Studies - field trips & in-school programs - 35 - Boys & Girls Clubs/TC, Blooming Prairie - youth programs - 5 - Debbie Grimmer, Girl Scouts - field trips & youth programs - 3 - City of Chanhassen Park & Recreation - field trips & youth programs - 182 - MISF - Non-public schools - field trips & school programs - 2 - Dodge County Homeschool Assn/Dodge Center - field trips - 4 - Wayzata Schools - field trips & in-school programs - 210 - BSA Central MN Council - scouting roundtables (Sartell) - 52 - ND Music Educators/Bismarck - Student Travel/Bands & Choirs - 6 - Plymouth Christian Activity Center/Mpls - field trips & youth programs - 6 - Jackson County Schools/Lakefield - 2 - ANSWER - Asburgers Assn - youth activities - 8 - Chisago Lakes Community Education - - field trips & summer programs - 55 - Chisago Lakes Schools - field trips & in-school programs - 10 - North Lakes Charter Academy - field trips & in-school programs - 8 - Columbus Elementary - field trips & in-school programs - 6 - Colonial Church of Edina - youth programs, field trips - 192 - MCCA - Child Care - field trips & youth programs - 15 - Caledonia Schools - field trips & in-school programs - 12 - Obremski Homeschool Family Groups - field trips - 50 - Heritage Girls of MN - new scout organization - field trips - 55 - Homeschool Consultant - MN co-ops - field trips & school programs - 652 - MACHE - Christian Home Educators - field trips - 6 - Ashby (MN) Schools - field trips & in-school programs - 5 - Sheridan Elementary (Richfield) - field trips & in-school programs - 557 - MN Kindergarten Assn - field trips & in-school programs - 125 - MHA - MN Homeschoolers Alliance - field trips - 30 - Gamehaven Council BSA/Rochester - roundtables - field trips/programs - 250 - MN Math Teachers - field trips & in-school programs - 50 - Hero Homeschool Network - field trips & co-op programs - 35 - Independent Homeschool Network/TC - field trips & co-op programs - 132 - MN PTA - fundraising, field trips & in-school programs - 30 - YEAH Homeschool Network - field trips & co-op programs - 360 - MISF STEM Conference - Non-public schools - field trips/programs - 510 - MN Catholic Home Educators Association - field trips - 65 - Edvisions Charter School Co-op - field trips/school programs - 510 - MN Field Trip EXPO - to attendees who request one or more Guides GRAND TOTAL DISTRIBUTION THROUGH October 2014: 9,200+ Note: We’ll continue to distribute the balance of the 2014 GUIDES at the 5 remaining 2014 conferences! !ATTENTION: the GUIDE is also available ONLINE and has been read worldwide… as of September 2014, it has been opened & digitally read more than 2,300 times. !In 2015, we’ll be printing more GUIDES, and expanding it into a unique reversible publication! !Here’s what to expect with the 2015 GUIDES: In 2015 we are planning to print and distribute at least 12,500 96-page reversible, 2-section GUIDES (1 for Field Trips and 1 for Student Travel) Section 1: The 2015 MN Field Trip & Activity Guide - 10,000 for MN K-Middle School students, and youth groups (this is the one we have had in 2014) Now, flip over the Guide to the 2nd cover, and you have: Section 2: The 2015 VISIT MINNESOTA Student Travel Guide - 2,500 for ND, SD, IA and WI middle school and high school student travel groups (bands, choirs, etc) We’ll be distributing these GUIDES at select conferences beyond MN (ND, SD, IA and WI). THE MONTHLY ALERTS

Page 13: The 2015 PARTNER PROGRAM

THE ALERTS PROVIDE A YEAR-LONG ANNOUNCEMENT PLATFORM FOR YOUR PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES !GET ENGAGED WITH 15,000+ WELL-QUALIFIED PLANNERS WHO LOYALLY READ 19,000 ALERTS EVERY MONTH - Averaging 40% opens and 30% clicks. More than 15,000 individuals from all over Minnesota consistently receive 19,000 permission-based ALERTS every month (plus more than 900 from our neighboring states) including teachers & education staff, after-school/summer activity coordinators, community educators, scout and youth group leaders, homeschoolers, park & recreation staff, and library program planners. And did I mention a large number of “unknowns” who really like what we’re doing, too? !As a Partner, you’ll get 12 ALERTS to use for announcements during a year, and you will pick one of the 4 ALERTS for your announcement every month. All 4 types of ALERTS are designed to offer up to planners fresh ideas and new activities/field trips that will help take the effort out of their planning. Your submission each month should be different (we don’t want any eyes glazing over or loss of attention, right?), and we encourage you to have a special webpage created to link to for your announcement’s details. Information is always “king” for the planners we support. Since this program is permission-based, planners opt to receive any one or all particular ALERT(s). !Content and announcements from Partners include: - New programs, performances, field trips, in-school programs & assemblies, special offers & relevant news, plus even periodic drawings (only for ALERTS recipients)… plus - Announcing your new & updated “downloadables” (brochures, visitor guides, study guides, program flyers, posters, etc) that are available to download from our website.
