The award is to be conferred once a year, in Septem- ber, to young scientists (no older than 35) for the stud- ies published in journals both in Russia and abroad. Works of individual authors or series of works of several authors (no more than three) on a single subject can be nominated for the award. Other conditions being equal, preference will be given to the works that were published (at least once) in Elektrokhimiya or in leading international journals. The Frumkin Award Committee comprises highly qualified scientists of the Frumkin Institute of Electro- chemistry (RAS) and the Electrochemistry Department of Moscow State University (Chairperson V.V. Lunin, Dean of the Chemistry Faculty of Moscow State Uni- versity, academician of RAS). The candidates for the award will be nominated by doctors of sciences, research and educational institutes, associations, and by the authors themselves. The study that wins the award will be presented at the Frumkin Readings held in October at the Chemistry Faculty of Moscow State University, after which the author (authors) will be awarded a diploma and a prize. The scientists who receive the award will publish an abstract (no more than 2 pages) of their presentation made at the Frumkin Readings in Elektrokhimiya with the note “The 2004 Frumkin Readings Award Paper.” The works should be submitted to the committee no later than September 5, 2004, or posted before August 15, 2004.
