  • IntroductionIn this time line you'll find out fun facts not just boring facts that you read out of book and that you see in history websites. In this the 1960s was a crazy decade in American History from the civil rights movements to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. America was changed by this crazy decade and because of some of the events, it still goes on today as you are reading this. This is my 1960s time line.

  • 1960On the 1st of February, four black college students from North Carolina

    went to a Tech and Agriculture college in Greensboro. The people of the college were

    racist so they didn't allow the students in the college. So the college students decided to

    protest and in the end the students got in the school. In April 1, 1960 a satellite called

    Trios I was launched. This was the first satellite launched in the United States.

  • 1961On April 17, 1961 the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba is attacked by Cuban

    forces in attempt by Cuban banishment under the orders of the United States

    government to overthrow the regime of Fidel Castro. On this year is the same year when

    the entire United States government figure skating team is killed on February 15, 1961.

    Seventy-three people died in the plane crash, this is the cost of the only United States

    figure skating team.

  • 1962On February 20, Lt. Colonel John Glenn the first U.S. Astronaut in orbit in

    the rocket called Friendship 7 Mercury. He decided to travel the earth and return before

    three days. John returned to earth before three days and had four hours and fifty-five

    minutes to spare. Johns flight was equalized the space race with the soviet union, whose

    Vostok I flight on April 12, 1961 with Yuri Gagarin, who is now dead.

  • 1963In August 28, 1963 the slaves or the civil rights marched to Washington D.C

    for jobs and freedom with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a

    head start of course because of the famous speech I Have A Dream. August 29, 1963

    over 200,000 people joined in the marched and so Washington D.C gave in and so they got they're freedom.

  • 1964In this year President John F. Kennedy was thought to stop running for president.

    Then was surprised when he got re-voted in this year. President John set war in

    poverty on variety of federal welfare programs. Its didn't say what happened after that

    and John F. Kennedy was also assassinated in the same year in the white house at 12:30

    precisely the killer was unknown and I think he got away.

  • 1966Population: 3.415 billionIn this year India suffered a lot after this year and for the next 20 years the went through a lot and this is why they're so hard to everyone that goes there. As you can see this years population isn't very big probably because of all the poverty.

And you see how this affected in America today. Man America really has changed because of this decade like for example the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
