About the summer school

• 16th summer school – started 1992 and as such the oldest summer

school on this field in Finland– realization has changed several times

• 5th year with this concept

• Select your ISP by clicking "Select ISP" at the top menubar– Sainet free provides free Internet

• Renew the IP address ( ipconfig /renew or ifconfig down/up or reboot )

• Please note that if your computer does not respond to ICMP Echo Request packets (ping), you will be logged out once in every hour

Feedback System

• System is in test use, running in a separate canvas and computer

• Provides a change to give real-time feedback• Allows you to rate the presentation during it• Results and questions/comments are shown for

the lecturer and the auditorium in real time

Course requirements

• 2 ECTS credits for active participation during the 3 day event. • Requires

– returned programming assignment – half-page report of each presentation of the Summer School

and WAWC. • The work done in the code camp will be evaluated after the code

camp. All reports on the presentations must be returned no later than one week after the event, August 24th.

Each student must sign up in order to get the credits. This must be done during Wednesday morning at the info-desk.

9:15 - 10:30 Mobile ServicesDr. Riku Suomela, Nokia Research Center

Dr. Riku Suomela works in Nokia Research Center, Tampere, Finland. His research focuses on context-awareness, online services, and especially multiplayer mobile games.

13:30 - 15:00 Semantic ServicesProf.  Josef Noll, University Graduate Center, Norway

Prof. stip. Dr. Josef Noll holds a professor stipend from the University of Oslo in the area of Mobile Services. Working areas include Mobile Authentication, Wireless Broadband Access, Personalised Services, Mobile-Fixed Integration and the Evolution to 4G systems. He is also Senior Advisor in Movation, Norway's leading innovation company for mobile services.
