THE SPIRE
Rev. James Graham
during the coming months we will be expanding participation in our group so that we, as a church, can begin to dream about our future. Vision is a key part of that future. Without a clear vision the organization dies. Rebekah Simon-Peter in her book Dream Like Jesus says Vision is about more than just adopting a mission statement. It is about dreaming about a world that is not yet a reality. It is about imagination and hope. In the next few months, we are going to be asking you to dream big. We are asking you to dream about a vision that is feisty, spirited and bold. We are asking you to dream about something that is so big that there’s no way to do it by yourself (or without God!). To dream a dream that kind of scares you! A dream that calls for the flourishing of our community not just the mere survival of the institution. I am looking for a dream that inspires and unifies people.
Are you ready to Dream Like Jesus??? I am going to be offering our Sunday School classes the opportunity to study Rebekah Simon-Peter’s book, Dream Like Jesus, with me as we journey through Lent. I am hoping you will come along on this journey with me as we explore a bold new vision for New Haven United Methodist Church. I believe God has an exciting new future ahead for us!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor James
It is a new year and a time for new beginnings! As we move into 2020 we will be focusing on vision. We have a leadership team working hard to provide guidance to the church, and

Visiting the Elsing Museum is a unique experience for exploring fascinating specimens that provide a glimpse into the past and information about the foundations of this world we inhabit. The Elsing Museum comprises an extensively rare collection of some of the world's most amazing gems, minerals, natural art, Indian artifacts, oriental artifacts, and much more. A visitor's first glimpse of the museum makes it clear that many years of dedication and careful selection by Mr. Willard Elsing has resulted in an irreplaceably unique exhibit.
Footprints Liturgical Dancers Footprints is starting to learn a new musical-theater-style dance for an upcoming worship service, and school-aged children through adults are welcome. We meet on Sundays in the sanctuary from 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm, and we’d love to have you join us!

Although, the 2019 mission reports have not been completed yet, it is safe to say New Haven has made a difference in the lives of approximately 7,000 individuals in 2019 through our mission programs. To say "Thank You" doesn't seem like it quite covers it. BUT...Thank You! I am looking forward to working with you again this year in our efforts to improve the lives we touch through our mission programs. Please contact me if you would be willing to accept the responsibility for coordinating one or more of our mission programs. We would like to set up a primary contact person for each of these programs.
*The top three missions still need a coordinator or co-coordinator, if you would like to volunteer or know more about one of our missions, please email Dee Kemp @ [email protected].
