Olivia is a Chemical and Environmental Engineer and an environment andsocial risk consultant responsible for developing local employment andtraining plans, local procurement strategies, influx management plans, andfor addressing community concerns around construction of large industrialdevelopment projects. Olivia has also worked on community consultationand engagement strategies, including identification and mapping of projectstakeholders and local Indigenous communities in various jurisdictionsglobally. Mark Wiseman, Vice President, Sustainability, Avalon Rare Metals

Mr Wiseman is a biologist with over 30 years of health, safety, environmentand social responsibility (HSEC) experience. He is a graduate of GuelphUniversity (BSc, 1979) and Laurentian University (MBA, 1989). Following a period of acid rain research with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Mark joined Falconbridge Limited in 1980, and worked in progressively responsible HSEC positions in the mining industry, both in operations and large scale projects nationally and internationally. Priorto joining Avalon, he most recently was Director Health, Safety and Environment for Xstrata Nickel’s Koniambo Project in New Caledonia. Mark has extensive experience in Social and Environmental Impact Assessment, permitting, HSEC management systems development andimplementation, training, risk management, closure planning, auditing anddue diligence assessment with the goal of continuous performance improvement.
