What Are Power Standards?• Prioritized standards that are derived from a

systematic and balanced approach to distinguishing which standards are absolutely essential and which ones are simply “nice to know”

• A subset of the complete list of standards for each subject area and represent the “safety net” curriculum.

• The standards that each teacher needs to make sure that every student learns prior to leaving the current course.

What is Web 2.0?• A term used to describe the trend in the use

of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users.

Web 2.0 Tools Are:• Proprietary: WIMBA Pronto, Classroom,

Voice Tools; Learning LX Blogs, Wikis, Podcasting

• Freeware: Vokis, ToonDoo, GoAnimate, Glogster, Animoto, etc.

What 10.2 Means to You:• The web 2.0 tools that you use through

us (proprietary) and that you import on your own (freeware) must be engaging for the 10/1 content.

What is Web 3.0?• Web 3.0 has not been clearly defined by the

Technical world, but its uses include:– Constant Connectivity: Mobile devices, handheld

games, Wii, etc– 3D Environments: Second Life, Habbo Hotel, etc.– Network computing: software as a service, “cloud”

computing– Simulations: PHET simulations

• Whether it is a mobile app, poll everywhere assessment, and/or a PHET game you should be integrating towards Web 3.0 with design and practice.
