Some of us live in fear of what's about to happen. I don't. I'm not saying that I'm at peace because of who our President is, or will be, or because I have a handle on all the contingencies of our family's life. I'm saying that I don't live in fear of what's about to happen on account of the fact that I live in fear, trust, and love of God. He has the handle, and His grip is both strong and tender. The death-and-resurrection of Jesus is the proof.

When your neighbors are anxious about the end times or the governing authorities, listen to them, love them, and share the Good News that God is faithful at all times. And what about you? Aren't you anxious sometimes? I am. At that time, pray and be certain that God hears and answers Christian prayer in His time and manner for the sake of Christ. The students in our Preschool are praying the Lord's Prayer in Chapel each Wednesday. Pray with them: "Our Father..." And rejoice. Under the unchanging grace and truth of God,

The Lutheran Hour, sponsored by Immanuel. 7:30am Sundays at 96.7FM ... November 20: "In Christ, Deliverance Is Sure" Jesus breaks through into our dark world to bring us light and hope from above. (Colossians 1:13-20) November 27: "The Perfect Christmas" The first Christmas was anything but perfect. Then again, if everything had been just as it should be, we wouldn't have needed a Savior. (Galatians 4:4-5)

November 13 “People do not like to face the fact that their soul will live on in eternity. We need time to be alone with God, to hear His Word, to read it every day, and to pray to Him. This is where we get food for our soul. We need to sit as a family and let God feed us with His Word, have our devotion, and pray together.” Rev. Homer Larsen, Christian Crusader radio program – A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life • www.lutheransforlife.org

November 13 - Proper 28 Luke 21:6 "As for these things that you see, the days will come when there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down." Everything in this world is headed for the graveyard – but some things are also destined to rise from the grave. On that Day of Resurrection as we look back on our earthly life, what will we see? What will have really mattered? This is a good question to ask ourselves in this season of the Church Year that focuses on the Last Things.
