With only two phone calls we found a safe home for both of them. Good deeds and good business aren’t mutually exclusive, as Open Doors so ably demonstrates,” Tim Solomon, CFLane “The Open Doors program helps us educate veterans on where they can go for housing . . . and who will accept them in spite of their barriers,” Decatur Housing Authority With endless dedication to the cause of homelessness, our provider partners, like the Housing Authority of the City of Decatur, work to improve the lives of Atlanta’s most marginalized people. A FRONTLINE LOOK AT WHAT YOUR DONATIONS ACCOMPLISHED - Open Doors added 17 new non-profit service provider partners to our network who help us move homeless people into homes and provide important support so they can stay there - Open Doors added two new staff members, critical “boots on the ground” that will enable us to connect more homeless to permanent homes (see below) - Thanks to the volunteer efforts of Thornton Communications, The Atlanta Journal Constitution wrote a feature article about Open Doors - Open Doors expanded into Cobb County to address unmet needs with its homeless population - Led by Sara Haas, Program Director for Enterprise Community Partners, Open Doors began a new branding and strategic marketing initiative to increase awareness and to communicate better with stakeholders Matt Hurd joined the organization as the new Director of Open Doors, enabling us to recruit and “onboard” more property partners John Jefferson joined Open Doors in the position of Program Manager to work with property providers and to identify homeless residents that can fill vacant units THANKS TO YOU, WE ARE OPENING DOORS Mid-Year 2016 Donor Update For more information, see opendoorsatl.org
