and our first Evaluation Manager, increasing our ability to share

    our impact with the community

  • As I move through my 30th year at CCR, I often reflect on where we started. Back in 1990, child care was seen as a solution for keeping children safe while parents went to work or attended school. Child care contributed to community well-being by supporting the workforce— it was about the adults.

Fast forward to today, where the public discourse around child care is now child-cen-tered. Yes, child care needs to be accessible to all families in order for parents to maintain careers and household income, but also to support the growth of the young mind. We now know that quality child care contributes to increased school readiness, graduation rates, earning potential, and overall health and success of the children who experience it. Community well-being starts with our kids!

Over the years, CCR has adapted our services to re-flect the growing importance of early learning and equity. Thank you for supporting this issue. I hope you’re proud of how far we have come AND are energized by how far we can still go. Together we will continue to make progress towards every child having a great start!

“Together we will continue to make progress towards every child having a great start!”
