What is Thailand Lotus?

Initially, Thailand Lotus is a network of friends online on facebook and email in a few countries with whom we would like to investigate the possibility of helping each other to sell a range of Natural and Handmade Thai products. At this time, the products range from herbal soaps and shower gels to clothes and teak wood handicrafts. As time goes on, the range of products will be expanded as we get to know more about the market and also increase our pool of suppliers and producers here.

Why Thailand Lotus?

Thailand Lotus is a small venture which aims to promote and popularize Thai products. We want to bring a taste of Thailand to you through these products. We also want to pro-vide an outlet for the producers through personal contact with our friends and, through the network, to provide an opportunity to all to supplement income by selling these prod-ucts on.

How does it work? It is a simple process! We provide all the information about the products. We arrange the shipping and delivery. We promise to make sure that the products are high quality and pricing is kept to a mini-mum. You choose the products you require, either for yourself or to sell on. We will not use online selling sites or middlemen. We deal directly with the producers/suppliers and with you. Please look at the photos of our products.

Some Thai Herbs Traditional Thai herbs are affiliated with the Thai culture and have become integrated in the way of living of the Thai people lived through out the ages for a long time. Thailand has plenty of resources and forestry. Each region is unique, has different climates and terrain types, which are the sources for the of a variety of herbs and production available in each locations. These resources mean that Thailand can meet the world market needs for natural products (can be efficiently met very well). Health products and Thai herbs are well known for a wide variety of uses in the health care business, from direct consumption in the form of food, medicine or an ingredient in cosmetic products, to the products used in traditional Thai Spa and health/beauty treatments.

Aloe Vera Thais call this plant the "crocodile tail plant" due to the appearance of its tapering, spiky leaves. When the leaves or stalks are pierced, a refresh-ing, healing gel oozes out. If applied to the skin, it soothes burns and is also a natural skin softener. Aloe gel is an effective natural sunburn soother and it is also good for moisturising dry of flaky skin.

Butterfly Pea Flower For centuries Thai women have used the juices of anchan, a dark pur-ple flower, to promote dark, lustrous, thick hair. It was also rubbed into babies' eyebrows to make the brows grow thick and long. The flower is rich in Bioflavinoid, an ingredient in modern-day hair products that stimulate hair growth.

Kaffir Lime This leaf is used in Thai Cuisine to add a lemony flavour to soups and salads, while the zest is a popular ingredient in herbal compresses and the oil is used in aromatherapy. The fresh fruit is an all-purpose aid to hair beauty -- making tresses soft and silky.

Thai Herbal Soap The meaning of Saboo is SOAP. It is a Thai word and pronounced as SA - BOO. We use only the highest quality ingredients in our hand made soap. Our handmade soap is made in small batches using the Cold Process (CP), Melt & Pour (MP) and Hot Proc-ess (HP) methods, thereby retaining the natural glycerin that is produced during the saponification process. Glycerin naturally soothes and softens the skin. Many commercial soap manufacturers remove glycerin from their soap, thus leaving your skin dry and itchy after using their soap. The base of our natural handmade soaps is olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, rice bean oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil, sweet almond and Thai herbal. We don't use tallow or animal fat in any of our handcrafted soaps. The natural handcrafted soap is scented with pure essential oils that are distilled from natural herbs, plants, and flowers. Because our soaps are handcrafted, they are very unique in size, shape and characteris-tics. Each bar of soap is hand cut and weighs approximately 85-100g. Handmade soap lasts longer than the commercial soaps found in retail stores. The aroma therapy and therapeutic values of the natural soap is assured. Most of the natural Thai herbs used in our handmade soaps are organically grown (pesticide free). The handmade soap is air-dried and aged for a minimum of four weeks to produce a mild, gentle, long-lasting bar of soap that is naturally high in glycerin. Our soap will leave your skin feeling smooth, soft, and re-hydrated.

SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) (commonly used in shampoo) is a strong irritating surfactant which may cause hair and hair cell damage which may consequently lead to gray hair. Silicone, Dimethicone, Diethylmethicone, Ethylmethicone (commonly used in shampoo, conditioner and treatment) help to make hair smooth and easy to comb, but they cause thin film coating on the scalp and may block cell function and cause hair loss after long term using. DEA (commonly used in shampoo, conditioner and treatment) helps increase viscosity and lather of the product but warnings have been made that it may cause cancer. Lanolin (commonly used in shampoo, conditioner and treatment) helps the product to become thicker and smoother but usually causes hypersensitivity. Artificial Color, Perfume or Alcohol (commonly used in hair products) helps appear-ance of products but may cause hypersensitivity. Lead, Silver, Copper, or their salts are heavy metal, usually used in hair dye products, may cause toxicity or allergy. Minoxidil is a hypotensive drug, used in common hair tonic. It helps hair growth but may cause hypotension, heart disorder and if it is orally taken, hair may grow in other areas of the body. The hair will fall off after stop using for 2 to 6 months. Finasteride is a medicine for prostate hyperplasia which can help hair growth. It is now commonly used in hair tonic and prescribed for hair loss that caused by male hormone (testosterone). But the hair will fall off when stop using it, Its adverse reaction is impo-tence and a decrease in libido. It cannot be used in women.
