appropriate for men and women is ‘country club’ type clothing. Evening resort attire for men would be nice slacks, polo shirts, button down shirts, nice shoes or sandals, with the option of wearing a sport coat. For women: nice pants, skorts, skirts, nice top, casual dress, sundress, nice sandals or casual shoes. The length of the skirt or dress is knee length or longer.

o THURSDAY THEME NIGHT (outdoor event) is “theme wear/resort casual.” Polo shirts, slacks,

knee length shorts or theme wear is appropriate. o SATURDAY AWARDS BANQUET dress is “dressy business” - ties optional. Use the men’s

description for comparable appropriate women’s attire. o NAME TAGS – It is customary to wear your name tag that will be provided to all business and

social events to help with identification and socialization.

With the Pacific Ocean laid out at its feet and the Santa Ynez Mountains watching from above, Santa Barbara offers an appealing balance of outdoor adventure and waterside relaxation.

ACTIVITIES THAT APPEAL TO EVERY GUEST

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara guests can swim in three pools, surf or sail at the beach, receive one-on-one attention from the resident tennis pro, participate in a painting class, play a round at the adjacent championship golf course or walk the on-property nature trail. Santa Barbara is also home to a thriving arts community, festival circuit and winery region, inviting guests to explore beyond the resort to discover more of what the area has to offer.

GOLF Santa Barbara’s three 18-hole championship golf courses include Sandpiper Golf Club, located next door to the resort. Tee times at all courses can be arranged through the resort.

TENNIS The resort’s four Har-Tru clay composition courts host adult and junior clinics, matches and private and semi-private lessons. Equipment is also available for rental.

BEACHES AND POOLS Set on 78 acres, the resort offers two natural beaches, three zero-edged, heated, saline swimming pools with private cabana rentals and watersports including surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE Santa Barbara offers horseback riding, biking, hiking and other activities. Rentals and tours are available through the onsite Bacara Adventures.

ARTS AND CULTURE Guests can join the resort’s painting classes, attend the annual film and Spanish Days festivals, visit local art galleries or celebrate the summer solstice at the local parade.

He won two Emmys, the prestigious George Foster Peabody award and the Heartland award for “Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream”. He has also been nominated for an Academy Award. On the speaking circuit and major search engines, Houle is consistently ranked as one of the top futurists and futurist keynote speakers. Over the past two years he has delivered keynotes on six continents and ten countries. He is often called “the CEOs’ Futurist” as a result of having spoken to or advised 2,000+ CEOs and business owners in the past four years. In February 2010 he also became a featured contributor to Oprah.com and his column can be found at www.oprah.com/davidhoule. His first book, the influential and highly acclaimed “The Shift Age” was published in 2008. The following book, “Shift Ed: A Call to Action for Transforming K-12 Education” was published in April 2011 by Corwin. Since then “The New Health Age: the Future of Healthcare and Medicine in America” was published in December 2011 and “The Shift Age” with a new foreword was also published by Sourcebooks in December 2011. His fourth book “Entering the Shift Age” will be published in January 2013. Houle is a member of the faculty and the futurist in residence at the Ringling College of Art + Design.

Mr. Meyer’s is responsible for commodity research and analysis and client servicing.

Areas of emphasis include wheat, corn, soybean complex, sugar, corn sweeteners and

cocoa. Previously, Paul was a Grains Analyst for the World Agricultural Outlook Board of

the U.S.D.A. responsible for official USDA supply-demand and price forecasts for wheat,

feed grains and rice, and an Agricultural Economist with the Agricultural Stabilization and

Conservation Service where he provided analysis and cost estimates for various farm

programs. Mr. Meyers received B.S & M.S. from the University of Minnesota and has

been one of the NAFD preferred speakers providing his insights on the markets during

many of our conventions.

Rob MacKie

President and CEO of the American Bakers Association (ABA)

Robb MacKie serves as President and CEO of the American Bakers Association (ABA). He previously served for 11 years as Vice President of Government Relations. The ABA is a trade association representing the interests of the $102 billion wholesale baking industry in Washington, D.C. Mr. MacKie oversees all aspects of the administration and operations of ABA and serves as the baking industry’s chief advocate and spokesperson.

Mr. MacKie has appeared on CNBC’s Closing Bell and Power Lunch, on Fox Business News, on CNN’s The Glenn Beck Show; and on numerous local news programs in Washington, D.C. and in Baltimore. He has also been interviewed by Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster Orin Samuelson for This Week in Agri-Business. Mr. MacKie is recognized as a leader in the Washington business community. He previously served on the steering committees of several issue-oriented coalitions including co-chairing the National Coalition on Ergonomics and the Food Industry Coalition on Hours of Service Regulations. Before joining ABA, Mr. MacKie worked for Congressman Jim Kolbe of Arizona with a primary responsibility for domestic spending bills. He also worked for the American Subcontractors Association and the Associated General Contractors representing the construction industry’s interests before the Congress.

Mr. MacKie provides strategic guidance as a member of the Kansas State University Grain Sciences Program Advisory Committee. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of BIPAC’s Prosperity Fund and the US Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious Committee of 100.

From 2004 to 2008, Mr. Mackie served on the Judicial Nominating Commission for Howard County, Maryland by appointment of Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich. The term was one of the most active in recent history with 4 judicial vacancies to fill. He remains very involved in local community and political activities.

Mr. MacKie is a graduate of Frostburg State University with a degree in Political Science. He and his wife Barbara have two children.
