The company began its activities in 1991, refurbishing screens for rotating filters. After the first year of activity, with the inclusion of new shareholders, a new corporate identity was created, TGM Turbinas Indústria e Comércio Ltda.

In the beginning of this new phase, the company began manufacturing parts and rendering technical assistance services for turbines installed in the sugar and ethanol sector.

Correcting defects and improving existing turbine projects, TGM acquired enough expertise and experience to manufacture its own compact, efficient, easy-to-operate and low maintenance-cost turbines, thus becoming a reference in industrial efficiency.

Technical AssistanceThe good operation of the turbines relies

on a series of factors, especially on effective maintenance. To ensure this maintenance, TGM maintains a Technical Assistance team trained periodically, working stand-by around the clock, ready to render services anywhere in Brazil and abroad. The service is supported by a fleet of vehicles and, for more remote locations, TGM 24 HOURS has an agreement with air carriers, reaching the most distant places in the shortest possible time.

TGM constantly broadens its works and human resources to ensure an increasingly efficient turbine production, keeping up with the evolution of industrial activities as well as new steam-application technologies.

With 100% Brazilian technology, TGM is specialized in manufacturing steam turbines and rendering services of technical assistance 24 hours to serve all the productive sectors in Brazil and abroad, among them: sugar and ethanol, pulp and paper, oil, chemical, petrochemical, timber, food, naval, effluent treatment, steel and iron, and thermoelectric power plants.

Investments in technology are constant in the design, manufacture, assembly and installation of turbines, ensuring operational reliability and assuring better results to the customers. The turbines and parts are manufactured with modern CNC machines in a CAE/CAD/CAM system that ensures the shortest lead time, with the strictest precision and finishing.

Backpressure/Extraction Turbines

TGM’s TM-A high-pressure and high- temperature multistage turbine line is developed and manufactured to better adequation to the power cogeneration processes and thermo power plants. Operating at up to 1230 psia and 968°F these turbines are ideal to improve efficiency levels in conventional or combined thermal cycles.

The turbine rotor is manufactured in a single piece, forged in Cr Mo steel, which allows it to operate at high speed, providing greater mechanical resistance and reliability. The blades have controlled geometry and attachments to ensure an excellent performance and vibration damping. The high-pressure housings are

designed based on the double-wall concept, which restricts the incidence of high pressure and high temperature to an extremely small area of the machine, resulting in excellent thermomechanical elasticity and considerably increasing the life span of the machine.

The control valves with independent drives ensure better distribution of the steam flow and control of the partial loads and allow also external adjustments, working as additional protection against overspeed.

Condensing turbines are suitable for power generation, specially applied in steam power plants, combined-cycle power plants and industrial processes. In a condensing cycle, the steam leaves the turbine and flows toward a condenser where it is re-converted into water and directed to the boiler.

TMC-A machines are of the straight condensing type only, while TMCE-A steam turbines are equipped with one or more extractions to supply steam for heating or industrial processing purposes (cogeneration).

The TS 1000P series was specially developed for mechanical drives (such as pumps, compressors, fans, and so on) where the available conditions for the steam are based on high pressure and high temperature. This series complies with the API 611 standard.

TGM’s TM multistage turbines for medium temperature and medium pressure are compact and very efficient to be applied in special mechanical drives as well as medium and high power generators.

Construction Characteristics of the TM/TME Models:

TGM´s multistage condensing turbines supply more power with lower steam consumption. They are indicated for plants with surplus steam or fuel and when steam is not required to process.

TGM also supplies multistage condensing turbines with controlled extraction, meeting the steam demand in process lines, or the same condensing turbine with intermediate bleedings to supply steam to pre-heaters or deaerators, increasing thermal cycle efficiency.

The CPC Converter allows connection of the hydraulic system to several types of electronic governors, standardizing the control of the turbines.

The Servomotor acts directly on the steam control valve and the incorporated technological improvements ensure positioning without answer delay, which is common in mechanical lever systems.

The Stop valve is hydraulically activated, highly reliable, and can be tested with the turbine in operation.

TGM raises the efficiency level of the global thermal balance with the TMFlex. Operating at medium pressures and temperatures, TM Flex is ideal for the new levels of thermal efficiency required in the processes. Besides its greater efficiency and flexibility, it is extremely compact, which reduces installation and maintenance costs. This new line of turbines incorporates the same technological concepts that have been proven and applied in the high-temperature and high-pressure turbines.

These are low-power turbine models, applied to drive pumps, fans, exhausts as well as small power plants between 20 kW and 1.500 kW.

The TS 500 turbine, a special series, was developed for cold start-up (emergency), whenever the immediate operation of the turbine is required. For example: the supply of feed water to the boilers must be assured, otherwise there will be irreversible damages to the boilers. In these conditions, the TS500 comes into operation with its mixed lubrication system (forced feed + oil ring). The housing is equipped with automatic steam traps to ensure the required purges. This turbine model is the best and cheapest solution available in the market.

The TG320 micro steam turbines are specially developed as prime drivers for small generators, to operate isolated as well as connected to an electrical net. They are ideal to take advantage of small steam flows at low pressure, even in saturated conditions, coming from boilers fed by biomass, oil, waste, gas and others.
