REFERENCE: Detail 2/S1-6100, Specification Section 07 81 23. The details indicate that the ring beams are SS316L. The fireproofing legend indicates these stainless steel beams are to receive intumescent fireproofing. Please confirm that these beams will be shop prepped and primed with Carbomastic 15 as indicated in the specifications.

Fireproofing of W-20 steel framing shall be excluded from the work of the TG16.8 package.

07 81 00 REFERENCE: Sheet A1-8663 (ASI 123 dated 8/6/14), Detail 3/A1-9858 (IFC Drawings for Main Package dated 3/31/14). Per Sheet A1-8663 Fire Proofing Schedule, fireproofing is not required at the Ground Level structural steel deck. Looking upward from the Lower Concourse West Level at the Ground Level, Detail 3/A1-9858 shows fireproofing is to be sprayed at the bottom of Ground Level Structural Steel Deck. Please confirm no fireproofing is required at the Ground Level Structural Steel Deck.

Confirmed. Follow A1-8663 Fire Proofing Schedule for fireproofing at the ground level structural steel deck. See the attached sketch SKA-4086 (based on A1-9858) showing fireproofing on the structural steel beams only and not on the underside of the ground floor deck.

07 81 00 Per previous communication, structural steel and concrete filled metal deck as shown on S1-2650A is to be furnished and installed as part of the base bid work. Sheet A1-8630A and Sheet A1-8663 do not specifically call for fireproofing to be furnished and installed at the Roof Top Café structural slab and associated structural support. Please confirm the Roof Top Café structural slab and associated structural support do not require fireproofing.

All structural steel members on this project require 2-HR fireproofing due to the type of construction. This is covered in the fireproofing schedule in sheets A1-8662 and A1-8663.

07 81 00 REFERENCE: Sheet A1-2305 (ASI 119 dated 6/20/14). Detail 2/A1-9317 (IFC Drawings for Main Package dated 3/31/14). Sheet A1-2305 depicts columns on the Ground Level and references Detail 2/A1-9317 for column details. Detail 2/A1-9317 calls for fireproofing at the column’s cruciform. The fireproofing illustrated does not extend to encompass the entirety of the steel stiffeners. Please confirm that fireproofing is not required to encompass the entire length of the stiffeners as shown in Detail 2/A1-9317 or provide a revised detail to reflect the correct fireproofing requirements.

Provide an alternate price on the Bid Form for including 2-hour SFRM-1 Fireproofing on the stiffeners of all structural cruciform columns. With this additional fireproofing, the entire structural cruciform column will be fireproofed in all cases. This will be alternate number 38. Refer to the attached sketches SKA-4101 thru SKA-4106 for revised drawings showing the added fireproofing on the stiffeners at structural cruciform columns. Refer to the structural S1-2302 thru S1-2407 series plans for locations of cruciform columns at the ground and second levels.
