Important deadline at the end of 2017: Replace tiled stove inserts now
Renovate the old tiled stove without great expense
All old tiled stove inserts with a type test before 1985 must be decommissioned, retrofitted or replaced by the end of 2017 if they do not meet the limit values specified. This is prescribed by the First Ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal Emissions Control Act (1.BImSchV). The technically outdated heating inserts no longer comply with the current environmental guidelines in many older tiled stoves. After all, these heating inserts have provided cosy warmth every evening for more than 30 years even in the coldest parts of the year.

On average, a new tiled stove insert emits only a seventh of the pollutants of an old device and is therefore many times more efficient. The reason: Due to the special structure of the modern combustion chamber, the combustion air is supplied to the fire at a variety of locations and this therefore ensures low-emission combustion. It will not only spare the environment, it will also lower the energy costs.
