and the double block printing workshops. The

‘design' is first drawn on paper& stretched outon a smooth surface of the wood. Themotif or

design is then pierced through the needles so

thatthe'impression'istransferredonthesmooth

surfaceofthewood.Youwillalsogetthechance

totryyourhandatpreparingtheblockandthen

printingasouvenir.

Later experience the technique ofBlue Pottery.Takealookatoneofthemostwell-knownitems

constructedinRajasthan,bluepotterywhichwas

onceonlytheluxuryoftherichtodayhasbecome

a reasonable piece of ornamentation. Today the

itemsmadeinbluepotteryareavailableinmany

colorslikepink,yellowandgreen.TheJaipurblue

pottery, prepared from Egyptian paste, is shiny

and low-fired. Some of this pottery is semi-

transparent and generally ornamented with

Palace of Winds, popularly known as Hawa Mahal is perhaps the most well-known architectural

landmark of Jaipur. An imposing structure in the city’s signature pink color, HawaMahal is a unique

Singh in the secondhalf of the17th century. Thereare several palaces inside the fort. The fortoffers

magnificentpanoramicviewofthecity.

JaswantThadaissituatedontheleftsideofFortMehrangarh;infactitislocatedbetweenthefortand

thecity.Wellmaintainedgardenswelcomeyou inside thecompound,andprovideagreatbase to sit

back and reflect onwhat you’ve seen and experienced. This cenotaphwas built by Sardar Singhji in

memoryofhisfather.
