Texas STaR Chart
Introduction
The TEA has developed the Texas School Technology and Readiness (STaR) Chart.
The STaR Chart is an online resource tool for self-assessment of our campus’ and district’s efforts to effectively integrate technology across the curriculum

Teaching and Learning
The Teaching and Learning section refers to how teachers use technology in the classroom.
Teachers have gone through a self evaluation using the following point system.
1 = Early Tech 2 = Developing Tech 3 = Advanced Tech 4 = Target Tech
Teaching and Learning
Teaching and Learning has scored a 13, or rated as developing.
Educator Preparation and Development
Educator Preparation and Development refers to how much professional development the staff has been involved in and staff understanding of technology.
Teachers have gone through a self evaluation using the following point system.
1 = Early Tech 2 = Developing Tech 3 = Advanced Tech 4 = Target Tech
Educator Preparation and Development
Educator Preparation and Development has scored a 12, or been rated at developing.
Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support
Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support refers to campus leadership’s vision for technology and the access to technology instructional support.
Teachers have gone through a self evaluation using the following point system.
1 = Early Tech 2 = Developing Tech 3 = Advanced Tech 4 = Target Tech

Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support has scored a 17, or been rated advanced.
Infrastructure Technology
Infrastructure Technology refers to faculty and student access to computers, the internet, and various technologies.
Teachers have gone through a self evaluation using the following point system.
1 = Early Tech 2 = Developing Tech 3 = Advanced Tech 4 = Target Tech
Infrastructure Technology
Infrastructure Technology has scored a 17, or been rated advanced.
STaR Chart Scores Over the Past 3 Years
Summary
McMath Middle School has its strengths and weaknesses when it comes to technology.
Although we have improved in most categories, Educator Preparation and Development must be addressed.
