Through sharing best practices, peer-to-peer networking, leadership and philanthropy, Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation (TRAEF) corporate partners create long-term values for the TRAEF while also further fostering business development opportunities for themselves.

TRAEF corporate partners are as diverse as the restaurant industry itself and have established additional partnerships between them.

By connecting with TRAEF, your corporation has a front row seat to one of the largest workforce resources in the Texas restaurant industry.

Texas ProStartTexas ProStart is the flagship program of TRAEF. The program prepares students for careers in the restaurant and food service industry. They gain valuable restaurant and food service skills through their academic and workplace experience. We take high school culinary and restaurant management to the next level by providing the full support of the Texas restaurant industry to over 240 high schools reaching 25,000 students each year. The program grows each year — adding more schools and reaching more students.

Community EngagementWith more than 25,000 Texas ProStart students and 300 educators across Texas, TRAEF has the ability to make an enormous impact on all of our communities. By partnering with local, state and national organizations and corporations, our Texas ProStart students and educators have the opportunity to give back to their own communities by volunteering with area food banks, farmers’ markets and other community-based organizations.

School GrantsAll socioeconomic levels are reflected in our Texas ProStart high schools. Through TRAEF school grants, we can give grant funds directly to a school in need and help strengthen their Texas ProStart program and enrich their classroom learning experience.

ScholarshipsTRAEF awards thousands of dollars each year to studentspursuing hospitality or culinary arts degrees across the state.

Classroom to Career An in-class discussion with a corporate partner, this is an opportunity for students to ask questions, gain knowledge on a variety of exciting industry careers, and connect with actual working industry professionals.

Culinary Educators Training ConferenceTRAEF’s annual train the trainer conference for all Texas ProStart educators and future Texas ProStart educators. Classes, demos, and presentations led by industry professionals, chefs and restaurateurs.

Restaurant Workforce ConferenceA conference that highlights best practices in our industry and how they impact workforce development. TRAEF is committed to offering educational programming that prepares people for exciting restaurant industry careers while also offering workforce development, recruitment, and retention programming that keeps the industry strong.

Workforce Solutions“We’re hiring” is something you likely said today. With thousands of food handler certified, kitchen confident, and restaurant ready employees entering our community through TRAEF’s Texas ProStart program each year, TRAEF is a proven workforce solution. Come meet your future employees.

TRA Member Restaurant SupportTRAEF is a great resource for our TRA restaurant members. We encourage our members to get involved with the TRAEF’s career fairs, restaurant revenue sharing opportunities, Texas ProStart Invitationals, educational programming, and other statewide initiatives. After all, a Texas ProStart graduate just may be your next employee and eventually a TRA member themselves.

F R I E N D S O F T H E F O U N D AT I O NThis on-going giving campaign helps support the growing Texas ProStart program which requires an annual investment by the TRA and TRAEF of approximately $33 per student. With over 25,000 students benefiting from the program, it is a significant investment in the future of our industry's workforce. Depending on your Partnership level, an automatic contribution will be made in your corporation’s name and recognized as a Friend of the Foundation.

E XC E L L E N C E AWA R DThe Excellence Award is awarded each year to an educator who has made significant contributions to culinary education through both an unwavering dedication to their students and a strong presence in their community using the Texas ProStart curriculum. The winner goes on to represent Texas at the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s Educator Excellence Awards Dinner in Chicago. Students, colleagues, parents and community members are welcome to nominate deserving teachers. Partners have the opportunity to help fund this award.

W. P R I C E , J R . M E M O R I A LS C H O L A R S H I PEach year TRA awards this scholarship to students with a growing passion for the food service industry. The scholarship is named for W. Price Jr., the first executive director of the TRA who served from 1953 until 1974.

Seven scholarships for $2,000 are awarded to graduating high school students attending a post-secondary culinary program and students currently enrolled in a post-secondary culinary program. Partners have the opportunity to help fund this program.

RESTAURANT REVENUE SHARING

TRAEF partners with Texas restaurants for revenue sharing opportunities, such as co-branded dinners, special events and more. Revenue sharing funds impact our Texas ProStart program directly, while increasing brand exposure and sales for restaurants.

BENEFICIARY EVENTS

Add philanthropy and an amazing cause to your event by making TRAEF its beneficiary. TRAEF will assist in promotion and marketing of the event and you’ll be assisting more than 25,000 students and their future career path.
