Year in Review

Texas History is filled with conquest, settlement, and expansion. The Spanish and French explored and conquered the land. Soon after Anglos, led by Stephen F. Austin settled the area. After wars such as the Mexican Revolution, Texas Revolution and Mexican war, Anglos were in control of the land. With that control, Texans expanded in politics, sciences, art, and economics to become one of the more diverse states in the Union producing state, national, and world leaders.

EXPLORERS CLUBThe Explorer Club

was dedicated to the three “G’s”. These were Gold, Glory, and God. Highlights were Cortez defeating the Aztecs, Coronado looking for Cibola, and de Vaca meeting the Karankawa Indians along the Texas coast. If not for these brave men, Texas may never have been settled.
