President’s Message

The Board and members of The Texas Association of

Alternative Education (TAAE) would like to invite all

educators who work with at-risk students at traditional and

non-traditional campuses to our 28th Annual Conference in

February 2018. We know there are many educators touching the

lives of students and shaping the futures for community

members. We enjoy seeing our old members and welcome new members who seek to

network and learn from each other. Our conference this year will include energetic

and knowledgeable keynote speakers who have experience with the at-risk student

and educator of at-risk students in the classrooms. We have members who are

presenting their best practices in the classroom and willing to share the learning with

other members. We will offer each member the opportunity to visit other schools in

the area through our bus tours. We look forward to sending you back to the

classroom with ideas and affirmations to the job you live every day with students. We

know that sometimes you are the only one who does what you do for your district,

and you need to meet other educators who are working diligently to meet the needs

for the student. We hope that you continue to grow TAAE – we know that at-risk

students will always be in our systems – we know that the students will keep

changing – we know that the state will keep changing the plan – we need to keep

TAAE strong for you, the educator, and the at-risk student. The Board includes ad-

ministrators and teachers of non-traditional and traditional campuses around the State

of Texas. We are here to help!

The Board of TAAE would like to thank you for attending our past annual conferences

and hope that you continue to attend by learning with us at the 2018 TAAE Annual

Conference. We want you to continue to share your heart for at-risk students whether it

is with our conference each year, or it is back on your campus.

Please invite another educator, or administrator to join us.

SEE YOU JANUARY 31 - FEBRUARY 2, 2018 IN AUSTIN!
