Neste sentido, inicia a campanha Inclusão

Anna Shapes Her Future
When Anna was born, the stars seemed to shine more brightly than ever before. She had
such intelligence, sensitivity, and beauty that surely her life would be charmed.
At 13 years old, Anna went to a good secondary school. Her parents felt she should be
given the best possible education to prepare her for the rest of her life. Anna shone at
everything. She was so kind and so loved by all of her friends that no one could feel
jealous of her success.
At 19 years old, when Anna had just completed her second year at university studying
to be an engineer, she met a boyfriend.
He was a lovely person with a very happy nature. Time spent with him was always
wonderful although he never seemed very serious about his work.

Unusual Sports
Sport is good not only for your body but for your mind, it helps you to clear your head. It is useful as long as you have fun practicing it. These unusual sports will most definitely enable you to have a great time. They are weird, different and exciting. Take a look at some of the most unusual sports from around the globe. 1. Wife Carrying

This unusual sport tests husband’s force and if he can show that the true love conquers all. This Finnish sport consists of a man carrying a woman, she doesn’t have to be his wife, and trying to pass all the obstacles in their way. Isn’t it just so romantic? According to the International Wife Carrying Rules Committee the wife has to weigh at least 75 kg. However in North America women carry men, trying to be the first at the finish line.
2. Tuna Throwing
Another unusual sport on the list is tuna throwing. It is held in Port Lincoln in South Australia. A tuna fish can weigh up to 50 kg. So you need some heavy lifters like Dean Lukin who was the Olympic Gold medalist lifter so he is a champion in tuna throwing, too.
3. Worm Charming If you want to win in this crazy game you have to dig into mud trying to dig out some worms. The winner is the one who catches the most worms. It is a oily but it seems to be fun. But the question is if you cut the worm in two do they count it a one worm or two? 4. Underwater Rugby The only requirement to play this sport is to know how to swim and maybe hold your breath. It is played in a pool of about 4 m depth, with 11 players on each side. You score a goal by getting the ball in the opposing team’s basket which is at the bottom of the pool. You can’t run out of air, it’s a long way up. 2. Decide whether the statements are True (T) or False (T). Correct the False ones. Decide se as frases são Verdadeiras ou Falsas. Corrige as falsas.
T F 1. In Wife Carrying, women have to carry men.
2. Dean Lukin won an Olympic medal in Tuna Throwing.
3. The winner in Worm Charming is the one who catches more worms.
4. Underwater Rugby is played with eleven players in each team.
3. Answer the following questions about the text. Responde às seguintes questões sobre o texto.

K: Phillip, can I introduce you to Petra, a friend of mine
from Prague?
PH: Hi, Petra. Nice to meet you.

K: Were you in Prague last year, Phillip?
PH: Yes, I was. It’s a beautiful city. The architecture is
fantastic! I loved it.
P: Oh yes, I do, too. Were you there for a holiday?
PH: Yes and no. I went to Prague to watch England play
football. I’m a big football fan.
P: I love football too! I was at that game with my brother
and father. They are crazy about football. It was a good
game but there were no goals.
PH: When I go to the stadium there are never any goals… Anyway, what are you doing here in London?
P: I’m staying here with a family for some months to learn English.
PH: Do you look after the children and cook?
P: Well, really I just look after the children. I’m terrible at cooking; I don’t like it at all!
PH: It’s the same with me. I hate it. I’m terrible.
P: And they have four children. I’m always very busy. Do you like children? I really enjoy it. They are
lovely.
PH: No, I don’t. But, which part of London are you staying in?
P: I’m near the University. Albert Road. Do you know it?
PH: Yes, I do. I live near there. Maybe we can meet and watch football together…
P: Ok, that would be great! We can go to the next Arsenal game.

UNIQUE BIOGRAPHIES
TEXT A: Aristotle Onassis
Aristotle Onassis was a prominent Greek shipping
industrialist. He was born in Karatass, a suburb of
Smyrna to Socrates and Penelope Onassis. During
his lifetime, Onassis was involved in a wide variety
of business operations, including the exportation of
tobacco and whaling. On October 20, 1968, he
married Jacqueline Kennedy, widow of U.S.
President John F. Kennedy. It was reported that
Onassis offered Mrs. Kennedy $3 million (US) for
herself and $1m for each son in return for marriage.
After Onassis’ death, Jacqueline would receive
$150,000 each year for the rest of her life.
A large collection of rumors exist surrounding the
life of Aristotle Onassis. Some say that suppressed
information has played a major role in shaping
world events since the 1950’s. The documents
propose that Aristotle
Onassis, Joseph P.
Kennedy, and other
important figures
were involved in
various schemes to
form a vast global
conspiracy, involving the Mafia and corrupt
politicians, oil and drug cartels, and illegal military
operations. It suggests that in 1957, Aristotle
Onassis kidnapped millionaire Howard Hughes
from his Hotel and Hughes suffered a massive brain
injury during the event.
People say that Hughes was made a virtual prisoner
by Onassis on Skorpios Island and was regularly
injected with morphine. Temporarily, Onassis
controlled his financial affairs, including airlines
and U.S. defense contracts. There is an accusation
that Aristotle Onassis was the man behind the
election of John F. Kennedy as President, and
subsequently, Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. He
TEXT B: Edward Mordrake
Edward Mordrake was reportedly a young man that
lived during the 19th century. At birth, Edward
was stricken with a bizarre medical condition. He
was born with an extra face on the back of his head.
The face could laugh and cry, but not eat or speak.
Edward begged his doctors to have the “demon
head” removed,
because it
whispered Satanist
language to him at
night. However, no
doctor would
attempt it. The
description of
Edward Mordrake’s
condition is
somewhat similar to those of Chang Tzu Ping and
Pasqual Pinon. Both Mordrake and Pinon are
featured in The Book of Lists (1976).
Sadly, Edward Mordrake committed suicide at the
age of 23. It is hard to establish the true facts
behind his condition because of the lack of reliable
medical records. His birth was not recorded and
conflicting accounts exist regarding his suicide, as
well as the placement and position of his extra face.
Much of what is known about Mordrake is based on
oral retelling. A viral image does exist that
supposedly shows Edward, but the picture can’t be
authenticated. In 2002, Tom Waits wrote a song
about Edward Mordrake titled “Poor Edward” for
his opera Alice.
Interesting Fact:
Craniopagus parasiticus is a medical condition in
which a parasitic twin head with an undeveloped
body is attached to the head of a developed twin,
giving the impression of two heads. There have

A DIFFERENT CAREER
TEXT A:
John remembers his first days, at the age of sixteen,
when working at a local supermarket in his
Chicago, when he started
developing a tendency to watch
other people.
“Working with so many people,
made me more aware of human
nature”, he says. Was it his keen
observation of his costumers, as
a supermarket cashier, or just a gift he was born
with? Nobody knows. The fact is that John Holmes
is nowadays one of the most famous Private
Investigators in Los Angeles. His clients are some
of the most famous movie stars and some of his
cases would make the headlines of many
newspapers. But “the secret is a good part of the
business” as he admits.
He claims that justice is his main ambition. His
earliest memories are of injustices, possibly
because he grew up in a big city where social
problems are your neighbours. John still wishes he
could make the world a better place, so his biggest
dream is to study law and one day become a
lawyer: “So that my children won’t have to live
with the same problems as I did”.
TEXT B:
She was lucky enough to have the childhood most
of us can only dream about. In her native Pueblo
Libre, in Argentina, there was only nature, the sky,
and animals… Lots of animals.
Rita Aimar was always around different farm
animals. But dogs were always her best friends.
“It’s like I could listen to what they are saying”, she
says.
Maybe that’s why she’s the most famous Dog
Psychologist in Buenos Aires, where she now lives.
She studied psychology at the National University
of Argentina, but Rita
never liked working
with people. “Dogs are
much more honest than
humans”, she claims.
It was not easy to start. “People think that what I do
is just a big lie and that we can’t understand
animals”, but Rita states that everything she does is
scientific and that there are many professionals with
the same career.
She loves her job so much that she doesn’t imagine
doing anything else. “I understand dogs and they
understand me. Why should I change?”, she asks.
