What to do in the
Beginning:
•Relax! You are in a great position and completely capable of succeeding!
•Introduce yourself to associates in the office and everyone on your team.
•Once you receive your laptop, become acquainted with Microsoft Outlook.
•Make sure you are set up with any printers and company databases.
•Continue to research and take notes about Comcast Spotlight & different departments.
Arriving On Time:
At the start of your
internship, establish and
confirm your official start
and end time.
*Also, ask about special
times when regular
meetings may occur
and you need to be
there early.
Setting Up Your
Desk:
Ask where you can go
to get needed supplies
for your desk.
*Don’t be afraid to
make your desk area
your own and show
that you’re apart of
the team!
Using the Phone:
As simple as it sounds, if
needed, ask someone the
procedure on making calls.
*Also, make sure you
know/ locate your desk
phone number so
others can contact you.
Your “Go-To”:
Mark a person that you
can go to for any
questions and concerns.
This may be a
supervisor, co-worker,
or intern.
*Allow others to be
there for you,
people usually want
to help!
Email Signature
Create an email signature
that has at least your name,
title, and phone number.
*Look at other
examples from your
office to replicate and
gain ideas.
Lunch Breaks:
Make sure you know how
much time is allotted for
your break so that you don’t
schedule one that is too
long.
*Ask co-workers for
recommendations of
places to get lunch &
any kitchen standards.
Logging Hours:
When logging hours the time used is
military time.
The protocol is to only log the hours that
you work. So, for example if I work 8:30a-
5p with a 30 min lunch break in between.
It would be recorded as:
8:30 – 13:00 ( 1 pm)
13:30-17:00 (5pm)
*Notice the 30 min break missing.
Dressing for SUCCESS!
Business Attire
Dressing for the office usually does not require a business suit. This will come in handy for special meetings throughout your internship and for conferences.
Business Casual
This style is worn on a daily basis in most offices. It is more casual than business attire, but you must especially
as an intern, remain professional.
Casual
Every Friday is casual day at Comcast. On this day you are allowed to wear jeans. Be sure that your jeans are in
good condition and consist of no rips, tears, stains, or wrinkles.
Try to avoid wearing clothing that is too tight or too bold or distracting to others.

create that will make your boss and your co-
workers jobs easier.
Update Your Brand Update and work on your
resume and maybe send it out to be critiqued. Get
advice from people in the office who want to help
you!
What to do with your free time!
Gain knowledge about your company Explore
online portals, sign up for webinars online and get
inside information on how different systems run!
Interview your boss or co-workers about their
experiences and goals.
ASK! ASK! ASK! It never hurts to ask if there are
ways in which you can expand your role as an intern
and find out how you can help in anyway possible.
Internships are important for dozens of reasons. How you connect with others and maintain each relationship is the key to the door of your future career. Yes, your skill level is important, but having a relationship with a professional that is already working in your desired field is golden. The most valuable connection that you can make with others are those that are sincere. This field is a lot smaller than you think.
Cards
If you take interest in
someone's job or have
the slightest connection
with a professional take
their card! You never
know when you will
need it in the future.
*It’s never bad to have
your own.*
Sincerity
Don’t just reach out to someone
when you want something. Truly
work on making a connection,
emailing a holiday card, grabbing
coffee or mailing thank you cards.
Confidence
When asked “How you are doing?”
don’t simply say “Fine.” Say something
interesting that will catch someone's
attentions.
LinkedIn:
Make a productive LinkedIn and try
to stay active. Connect with people
that you have worked with and stay
in contact with them. Always
update your resume as needed, you
never know who in your network
will fall upon your page.
How To Make Your Internship
*Keep this in mind for social
networking sites, be professional
and be mindful of what is exposed
to the public.
Set the standard for yourself and be sure to
carry it out. Make a list of duties and actions
that will make you stick out. Be confident
about your abilities!
Make sure your professionals in your
workplace know about all of the hard work
that you have done. They should know what
skills you have so that they can assist you if
need be in the future.

brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?”

Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
