TEST PIT ANCHORAGE RAILS MILFORD, MICHIGAN General Motors is upgrading dyno test pits located at Building 41 of the Milford Proving Ground. Continuous HALFEN HM 5234 mounting channels welded to I-beams will serve as vehicle and equipment anchorage points. Hot-rolled HALFEN Channel resists dynamic loads and offers the most durable hold-down rail solution for the installation. HALFEN has a range of off-the-shelf profiles with matching t-bolts to provide an adjustable connection that will not work loose over time, does not affect corrosion protection and permits any sized vehicle or equipment to be secured with just a torque wrench. Toothed channels matched with toothed t-bolts provide mechanical load transfer in 3 planes. HALFEN HM and HZM toothed channels are widely specified for vehicle test centers and production equipment, used at Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Kia, Ford, GM, Honda, and Mercedes facilities across North America and Mexico. Tier one suppliers such as AVL, Horiba, Takata and Tenneco use HALFEN in their test equipment, as do university and state transportation research centers. © General Motors

HALFEN Mounting Channel and HALFEN Bolt

HALFEN Mounting Channels offer designers of installations with high performance demands the ability to detail a connection without the need to know what will be fixed – now, or over the life of the machine.

Hot rolled Mounting Channels resist vibration and dynamic loads, and provide a durable and adjustable mounting point in any steel fabrication, up to 7 kips point load capacity.

HALFEN Mounting Channels provide an adjustable and durable fixing point to test equipment or complex machinery fabrications where the final equipment requirements are not known during initial base fabrication, where multiple fixing points are needed or where frequent change-outs will occur over the life of the installation.

Common applications cover the range of automobile testing equipment – dynomometers; acoustic test cells; suspension, seat belt, sled and crash test equipment, as well as the assembly of complex production and materials handling machinery for the auto, mining, baggage handling and food production industries where a modular approach to design and fabrication is desired.

• HALFEN Mounting Channels are high performance hot-rolled profiles with matching T-bolts.

• This system permits adjustment of a connection combined with high dynamic load resistance.

• HALFEN channels can be mounted to steel or supplied with anchors to provide a durable, adjustable fixing to concrete.
