Welcome RCLC is a Neighbourhood House offering a range of inclusive community development activities across three sites – The Cubby House, Burnley Backyard and Studio 1. This term, our regular programs all return, as well as new offerings in the arts, health & wellbeing, food & sustainability, and co-working. We recognise the valuable skills and talents of local residents by offering a range of volunteering opportunities – please contact us if you are interested in contributing to your community. Mini Maestros Burnley Backyard Several music programs are run within various timeslots that introduce children to musical concepts in interactive and fun ways. French Immersion Kindy The Cubby House Starting this term, French Kindy offers a French immersion program for pre-schoolers. The program is designed as both an introduction to language and culture for children who have no prior knowledge of the language, and an essential extension for children with a French language background. Fruit From Small Gardens Burnley Backyard Learn how to grow tiny herb and vegetable seedlings in the smallest of spaces, indoors or out. Expert gardener Sam Green will show you what to plant, how to care for it, how to harvest it and how to use it in your kitchen. It’s a great way to introduce kids to growing and eating veggies, since microgreens will grow quickly! Some materials will be supplied. Introduction to Ukuleles Burnley Backyard Ukulele for everyone! The talented Ritchie will have you playing the ukulele in no time in a fun and relaxed atmosphere! All ages welcome. Come along and join Ritchie and other passionate ukulele players for a weekly class and master that uke! Choir 3121 Studio 1 Richmond Community Learning Centre and The Richmond Music Academy are coming together to help inspire fun and new connections through the establishment of Choir 3121! Community Craft Burnley Backyard Come and join our craft group who meet each Friday morning to swap ideas and stories, work on current projects and help one another. Able Australia Art therapy Sight / Hearing impaired Burnley Backyard Able Australia Deafblind Services are holding Tuesday term groups in craft and photography for people who are experience barriers to communication due to being either Hard of Hearing, Deaf, Vision Impaired, Blind or Deafblind. Vinyasa Yoga Class Studio 1 Join us for a challenging and dynamic yoga class. Richmond Community Learning Centre is delighted to announce the opening of Studio 1 Co-working within the old GTV9 Studios heritage building. This beautiful space will soon become a must in your weekly schedule. Work and connect with local freelancers, creatives and entrepreneurs from around your block. You might even like them! Studio 1 Co-working offers great, light filled space to work from, a meeting room, a kitchen/breakout space, lockers and fast internet connection. Using Digital Technology to Communicate Burnley Backyard Do you have an iPad and don’t know how to use it? Are you nervous with technology and want to learn? No worries! Come join our fun and friendly group and learn the basic iPad and computer functions in a relaxed setting, to keep you entertained and in touch with family and friends! Computer Confidence Class Studio 1 Want to know more about computers? Do you want to explore what a computer can do and learn new skills for work, study or home use? Then join our weekly group held on Mondays at 10 – 1pm to help you understand and use computers, in a relaxed and welcoming environment, from a friendly, experienced computer teacher. The course is run Term by term, so call our office to make sure you get a place in 2016! Suited for over fifties (seniors are also most welcome), job seekers (to learn computer skills to help get a job), and intermediate users (to learn great tips and shortcuts).
