Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the speech finals last Friday night. Oral language is an essential life skill and it was great to see all of your children sharing their speeches so confidently. Proud parents and grandparents were excited, nervous support crews and the lovely PTA supper provided a welcome opportunity for conversation and a time to share your thoughts.

CROSS COUNTRY
Whoever organised the weather for our Cross Country - take a bow and please lock it in for a repeat performance next year. The weather conditions just set the scene for a great event and awesome student and parent participation. Mr Mitchell’s organisation and his band of merry helpers: Bec Mc Clennan, Rochelle Killip, Sheree Brennan, Rachelle Goulter, Susan Henderson, Steve Barr, Deb Holmes, Kerryn Mc Gowan, Helen Germann, Micheaela Buhrs, Jayne Signal, Gary Bennet, Nicola Bruce and Liz Stolwyk ensured all students stayed on the course and there were no medical issues. It was great to see all the support teams cheering on the athletes and observe many positive interactions occurring. Thanks to the Sports Club for providing sausages and to Mark Wooten, Rachel Kelly and Lynaire Mc Donald for cooking them. Sincere thanks to Mrs Bec McClennan for providing a further supply of sausages and donating these to the school and to those people who waited patiently for these to be cooked. Friday the 24th is Lower Waipa Cross Country at Paterangi. Those athletes participating will be notified by Mr Mitchell once the team is finalised.
