From the Principal
Mr Greg Smith
The Partners in Learning parent feedback survey
Our school will also be participating in the Partners in
Learning parent survey, another part of the Tell
Them From Me suite of surveys (student, teacher
and parent surveys) on student engagement. The
survey asks parents and carers questions about dif-
ferent factors that are known to impact on student
wellbeing and engagement.
Running this survey will help our school understand
parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s ex-
perience at school. These include: communication
between parents/carers and staff, activities and
practices at home and parent/carer views on the
school's support of learning and behaviour. This valu-
able feedback will help our school make practical
improvements.
The survey is conducted entirely online at home or
on public computers. The survey will typically takes
15 minutes or less to complete and is completely
confidential. The parent survey is being conducted
between 17 August and 16 October. Participating in
the survey is entirely voluntary; however, your re-
sponses are very much appreciated.
More information about the survey is available at:
http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-for-
parents
As indicated in the previous newsletter, the ‘Tell
Them From Me’ parent surveys are now available
through the following link:

Community Consultation Funding
We will hold a meeting on Wednesday 7th October
(Week 1 Term 4) at 6.00pm to discuss the Communi-
ty Consultation Funding that we have received along
with the ‘Strengthening family and community en-
gagement’. It is a positive step in continuing to
strengthen our school-community relationships. We
welcome the opportunity to engage with members of
our community in making decisions about how best
to utilise this funding. The meeting will be held in our
Conference Room in the Administration Building.
Year 12 Graduation
The Year 12 Graduation Ceremony will be held this
Friday 18th September in our hall, starting at
9.00am. Family and friends of Year 12 are invited
along to share in this important occasion.
Year 12 students can see their final assessment
ranks via Students Online from the 6th November. If a
student feels that their placement in any course is
not correct they should apply to the school for imme-
diate review. The appeal period finishes on the 18th
November.
I take this opportunity to wish all of our school com-
munity a safe and enjoyable Spring Holiday and look
forward to seeing you back for term 4 which com-
mences on Tuesday 6th October.

just seems to have too many worries, we would like
to introduce you to BRAVE Self-Help – an interac-
tive, online program for the prevention and treat-
ment of childhood and adolescent anxiety. It was
developed by a group of researchers from the Uni-
versity of Queensland and now, with the support of
beyondblue, this program is now freely available to
all young people aged 8 -17 years old who are living
in Australia.
BRAVE Self-Help provides strategies for children
and teenagers to better cope with their worries.
There are 4 programs available, one for children
aged 8-12 years, one for teenagers aged 12-17

respectively. The program can be accessed as often
as you like, from the comfort of your own home. For
