Principal’s Message Thank you to the many families who helped with preparations and cleaning up, ensuring that our major fundraising night was successful. The fireworks, with the 40-year display, was a wonderful way to conclude the evening. I would like to thank parents, family members, friends, and local businesses for donations of prizes for the stalls and raffles. I would also like to thank everyone involved in cooking and preparing food items for the night. Your time and commitment to the school is very much appreciated. I am grateful to see parents, staff and students commit to volunteering on stalls throughout the night. Special thanks to families and staff in leading stalls and therefore working through the entire night, these include Trash and Treasure, Chocolate Wheel, Tractor Ride, Dutch Pancakes, Hot Potatoes/Hotdogs, Café De Rous, Drinks, Produce, Raffle, Vege Burgers, Plants, Hair extensions/tattoos, Ducks, Chocolate Toss, Guessing Competition, BBQ, Book Stall and finance officers and runners. 2/3 Excursion to Dorroughby

Last Thursday, students from years 2 and 3 attended the overnight camp at Dorroughby Education

Centre. Students got a look at what school was like in the1900’s and got to make damper and butter.

A highlight of the trip was seeing platypodes in their natural environment, and visit a dairy where we

watched the cows being milked. We had a wonderful time and the students were fantastic. A big thank

you to the parent helpers who came along and supported the students, we can’t wait to go again.

Science News

Leaning towers of pasta

The 1/2 class attempted making towers made out of spaghetti and marshmallows. Not as easy as it sounds. We all agreed that if we had used the cooked spaghetti from last week’s lesson, this task would have been impossible!

5/6 Natural Disaster Project

Another great interactive project constructed by Connor and Tim during the holidays. The

boys made a plasticine and bottle volcano. On Tuesday the boys added bicarb, vinegar and

red food colouring to their volcano. It made a pretty convincing volcanic eruption!

Bonfire Wrap Up by 1/2 students

On Saturday night I went to the bonfire. I went with my Nana and Pop.

When I got there I went straight to the trash –and – treasure. I bought a

Pegasus.

I went on every ride. I had a hot-dog and a Fanta.

We watched the fireworks and they were amazing. I had a great time.

On Saturday I went to the bonfire with my family. The fireworks were big and

loud and they are fun. That was the best night of my life.

It was fun! By Levi 1/2
