provoking film. The film is very consistent with the

Cri cal and Crea ve Thinking we do at Huskisson

Public School. It poses to the audience, ques ons about

how we can shape the future.

Although the message is for all concerned ci zens, the

movie is best suited to our four primary classes. The $5

cost has been significantly subsidised.

Look for the permission note in your child’s bag today.

ChickenPoxAlert!Cases of chicken pox are s ll being reported at school.

Please be vigilant. If you suspect your child has chicken

Pox please go and see your local doctor before sending

them to school. Keeping students isolated from other

students is the only way we will break the cycle.

Library News Week 8

Kindergarten never

ceases to amaze

me! Not only are

they the best bor‐

rowers and return‐

ers in the school,

but they are abso‐

lutely smashing

through their log‐

in process on com‐

puters. It was only

a few weeks ago

that they were

learning to find the

le ers of their

names on a keyboard as well as the trickier “Control,

Alt and Delete” sequence, but they are nailing it now!

This week they also looked through our windows icon

to find an internet browser. I am looking forward to

challenging them with more keyboard exercises.

Ms Roose and I

were able to a end

the InteractEd

Technology day at

the University of

Wollongong on

Tuesday and we

both came away

with spinning heads

full of new ideas for

our staff and stu‐

dent tech learners.

It was a profession‐

ally run day jam‐packed with workshops and break‐

out sessions and included tours of the UoW Mak‐

erSpace and the Children’s Discovery Lab. Wow, if

only we had the space (and the money)! One of the

most important messages that we came away with is that

our students are being exposed to the right skills when it

comes to 21st century learning, but that a real balance in

physical and mental well‐being is most essen al.

OVERDUES! A big thanks to all who dug deep to find those

overdue and missing books. Our list is just under 100 so

even more of an effort is needed to search and return

overdues to their temporary home in the library. Many of

the books that are s ll out are new tles that are in high

demand. Please act on any no ces that your child brings

home so that we can keep those books in circula on.

Thanks! Mrs Hanson
