SCOUTING THE TIGERS Auburn is 27-15 on the season and 6-9 in SEC play. The Tigers are batting .292 as a team and their pitchers have combined for a 3.29 ERA. Auburn took two out of three at home against Ole Miss last weekend before defeating Southern Miss and Troy in a pair of midweek games. The Tigers beat UM, 9-0 (6) last Friday and 2-1 on Saturday before falling, 11-9. AU enjoyed a 3-1 win over Southern Miss on Monday and a 6-1 victory over Troy on Wednesday. Auburn is averaging 5.5 runs per contest while giving up 4.2 runs per game. In 2012, Auburn went 40-19 and finished seventh in the SEC with a 15-13 league record. The Tigers fell in

the NCAA Regional in Austin and were eliminated by Texas. In 2012, outfielder Branndi Melero was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. Auburn returned 11 letterwinners from last year’s squad, including six starters and one pitcher. The AU roster features four batters hitting over .300, including Emily Carosone leads the team with a .421 battinga average and 12 doubles to go with three homers and 30 RBIs. Branndi Melero is batting .388 with a team highs of eight homers and 41 RBIs. Morgan Estell (.365 BA) and Brooke Lathan (302 BA) have four homers apiece. Marcy Harper has been the Tigers’ ace in the circle, posting a 15-6 record, a 2.61 ERA and 110 strikeouts

over 27 appearances, 19 starts and 136.2 innings. She has posted 14 complete games with a .228 opponents’ batting average. Hilary Mavromat has a 5-3 record, a 3.12 ERA and 38 strikeouts over 18 apperances, nine starts and 56.0 frames. She has posted three complete games with a .248 opponents’ batting average.
