In December, State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins of Westchester was elected Leader of the Senate Democratic

Conference. She brings strong, smart leadership to the Democratic Conference and a true commitment to renting families

Tenants PAC supported Andrea Stewart-Cousins when she ran in 2004 and lost by 18 votes, and we supported her in 2006when she defeated an entrenched Republican incumbent by 2,000 votes. Tenants PAC phone banked, door knocked,recruited 120 tenant volunteers to help Get Out The Vote and contributed $8,500 to her campaign.

Senator Stewart-Cousins is the lead sponsor of the bill to repeal Vacancy Destabilization, and the bill toprotect Mitchell-Lama and Section 8 housing. Join us as we congratulate her and raise funds to electmore pro-tenant State Senators.

SPECIAL GUEST: The newest State Senator, Cecilia Tkaczyk, who won a rural seat near Albany.Tenants PAC supported Senator Tkaczyk and we are delighted she will join us at this event.
