Ten Amazing Example of
Online Quizzes
1. The Red CrossThe Red Cross recently
released a swim app designed
to make learning to swim into
a game that encourages kids
to get in the pool more. As
part of the marketing strategy
for the app, they released a
quiz titled “Do you actually
know how to swim?” which
caught the attention of
thousands through Facebook
and Twitter.
2. Forbes
Every year Forbes puts together an excellent package of content
for the start of college season. This year a quiz was included in
that push. The quiz helps students get a general idea of what kind
of college they should attend before pointing people to their
personalized college selection tool.
3. Amnesty InternationalAmnesty does a ton of work all over
the globe and is involved in social
justice missions that very few people
are fully aware of. Their quiz “Which
Famous Human Rights Activist are
you?” helps to highlight some of the
larger missions around the world by
personalizing the people involved in
those justice projects.
4. Philips Sonicare
As a forward-thinking big
brand, Philips Sonicare goes
out of their way to get involved
in the social scene. Their fun
quiz about pink was a smash
hit and really brought out the
fun personality of the company.
5. TED
One of the best TED talks of
all time (in my opinion)
hinges around introverts
versus extroverts. As an
add-on and way of raising
awareness for the talk, a
quiz was made titled “How
introverted are you?” it’s
almost ironic since the
original personality quiz is
designed to tell you if you
are introverted or
extroverted.
6. UCLAAs a university media brand,
UCLA is arguably one of the
greatest global influencers.
They run several media
channels including one called
the Daily Bruin which is the
school’s newspaper with an
impressive circulation. As
part of the newspaper, UCLA
runs fun quizzes designed to
build social traffic and on-site
engagement.
7. World Vision
World vision operates in
nearly every country in the
world and makes massive
impacts on impoverished
communities. Their quiz helps
to highlight those various
areas by telling people which
social justice advocate they
are most like. It’s both
entertaining and eye opening.
8. Kansas City Public Library
Throwing this out
there, the Kansas
City Library is the
most forward-
thinking public library
in America. Who else
features quizzes on
their website home
page that help
people find books
personalized to their
tastes? It’s not even
a competition at this
point.
9. Food52.com
Every week without fail Food52 puts out another fun quiz, and every week
without fail that quiz does 10k views or more. Every quiz links to a fun recipe
and then provides the actual recipe to make the dish – it’s awesome.
10. HostelBookers
How does 35,000 views to
a blog post sound? That’s
what Hostelworld.com got
when they inserted this
clever quiz into a piece and
shared it out on social
channel.
